I'm sorry, but stop trolling your ignorance. If you knew the facts, you'd have a different tune.
Don't we have a thread about this already?
Now, I understand that this is a troll thread, but for any actual participating user who stumbles across this thread, here's the information for you (copy/pasted from my site)

First of all, let’s clear things up. For anyone who is raging about this “ground-zero mosque”, I must inform you: there is NOT going to be a mosque at Ground Zero. Currently, there are twenty-something-year-old plans for an Islamic interfaith cultural centre to be built in an old Burlington Coat factory two blocks away from the site of the 9/11 attacks. This is not a mosque, and it’s not on Ground Zero, nor was it intended to be.
Second of all; this interfaith cultural centre is meant to bring people together, not tear them apart. It isn’t any different from, say, a YMCA (which, don’t forget, is a Young Men’s Christian Association — an interfaith religious cultural centre). The project is called the Cordoba House project and they are intending to have activity areas like a gym, or the aforementioned YMCA.
Thirdly; even if there WAS going to be a mosque at Ground Zero, we must remember that Muslims are not directly to blame for the 9/11 attacks. A radical fringe sect of Islam under the name of the cult Al-Qaeda is the group responsible for the attacks. Blaming every Muslim, and to look down upon them for even trying to reach out to others and explain that they aren’t the enemy, is an absolutely foolish thing to do. To compare all Muslims to Al-Qaeda is to judge all Christians on the actions of the Klu Klux Klan.
And let us not forget that Ground Zero wasn’t the only place being attacked on September 11th 2001. The Pentagon suffered great damage as well, yet there was no outrage over the mosque constructed there.
Why must we rally against this particular religion? It’s utterly absurd to think that Islam is evil, for every religion has its fair share of fanatics.
I support the construction of the Cordoba House one-hundred percent. This project intends to integrate the Muslim community into this society, and to promote acceptance and denounce radicalism. I’d give almost anything to have people stop judging rational, sane people based on the actions of murderous lunatics.

First and foremost, it's a few blocks away from Ground Zero (therefore n.o.t. on ground zero). There are also rallies all across the country trying to stop the building of mosques pretty much anywhere.
It's a shame in my opinion. You conservatives that love your constitution so much should look at the first amendment for a second.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
So stop coming up with lies to scare people. But oh well, what can we do, if everyone got the facts right the GOP would go out of business.

i don't think anyone is saying that legally they CANT do it. I'm very opposed to that cultural center however i acknowledge that legally there is no reason whatsoever to bar them from building it.

I still don't get it? There's no reason for you to be opposed to it? Oh, I get it, you're still angry at all Muslims because a fringe cult decided to do something ridiculously violent.

I think it's a shame that they're building a cultural center near ground zero. They should move their center further away from ground zero to respect the lives of all those who died in the 9/11 attacks. It's just insensitive and 70% of America opposes it. They should at least consider the negative impact it will have on their community and their people.

I forget... how is it disrespectful again? Oh right... because the people who attacked the United States on September 11th were a fringe Muslim cult.
You know, because ALL Muslims are obviously terrorists. [/sarcasm]
But I digress. You know that there's a mosque at the Pentagon? Guess where else got attacked on 9/11?

I believe that muslims should be double checked because I honestly think a good majority of them are terrorist or sympathizers. The Pentagon was attacked but not destroyed because they knew that there was a mosque in there.

I agree with you, Alex, but he does present a valid point(unintentionally, no doubt)- a lot of misinformed people are going to harass them over it. Maybe moving it further away would be wise. But then again, the plans for the center predate 9/11 by more than a decade, so it isn't really an act of disrespect. Personally, I support it, but I can understand where those who aren't are coming from. It's a stupid assumption, but I understand it. Was that at all clear? I wasn't sure how to put it.

Alright then... judging by your other posts, I would assume that you're a Christian. I can do the same thing you just did:
I believe that all christians should be double checked because I honestly think a good majority of them are part of the westboro baptist church or sympathizers.
Being judgmental isn't nice, is it? You're just being way too paranoid, thinking there's some sort of Muslim conspiracy. There isn't. Calm down and go back to watching Fox News.

Let's say I was going to build a german christian church next to a concentration camp BUT I had plans to build this church decades before the second world war.. Does that mean that I should still build the church?

It's mainstream politics to oppose homosexuality. I believe that homosexuals have the choice to be homosexual and therefore homosexuals are not the "new black" because blacks cannot choose their race but homosexuals can choose their sexual orientation. I have the right to deny them any rights because it's their choice and that includes civil rights.

Um... Yes. You can build that church. There's no reason not to. However, I think it's a bit more comparable to this situation as building a YMCA a couple blocks away from Auschwitz.

From your last sentence, I am willing to call you a troll, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt for now...
Speaking as someone who isn't straight, I can say from personal experience that the romantic and sexual attraction to the same sex isn't a choice. I didn't choose to feel the way I feel.
And it's not mainstream politics. Maybe in your secluded republican world it is, but not where I live. I live in a magic land called Canada, where we've been leading civil rights movements since the times of slavery.
But there's another topic for that. If you want to discuss that, take that there.

It's just a very wise choice for the Muslims to go against the majority of Americans wishes..

I understand that you may think that it's not a choice but that's what I believe. I strongly believe that it's possible to manipulate your sexual orientation with therapy such as religious therapy or one based on open minded science.
As a republican, I strongly believe in returning out country back to our traditions. I think that Canada is a horrible country for forcing religious leaders to perform gay marriages against their own beliefs and religious freedom. Canada also limits free speech from hate speech and is just overall not a free country but instead a faux democracy with liberties in theory but are regulated by the left wing which acts like fascists in Canada.

By this, you're making it sound like there are no American Muslims. It's the American Muslims who are building the cultural centre -- American Muslims who denounce terrorism and wish to make an interfaith centre for everyone to use.

Um, actually no... We do not force religious leaders to perform same-sex marriages. Actually, we have it so that religious leaders are free to oppose it and reject same-sex couples from marrying in their church.
And the free speech/hate speech thing is actually pretty great. It means that you can't verbally harass people repeatedly. You know, like stalk them and try to convince them to commit suicide because they're black or something like that.
But anyway, there's another topic for the homosexuality debate. Take it there.

It's naive to believe that all American Muslims "denounce terrorism." There was an American Muslim who attempted to bomb time square..

Then why were religious leaders fined in Alberta for rejecting a same sex couple?

Hate speech also makes it a crime to deny the holocaust.. Even though that's simply not true, that is not freedom of speech.

I'm sorry, I should have clarified. The Muslims who are building the cultural centre have explicitly stated that they denounce terrorism and that they wish to bridge the gap between American Muslims and non-Muslims.
Hate speech also makes it a crime to deny the holocaust.. Even though that's simply not true, that is not freedom of speech.
No. You can deny the holocaust all you want. For it to be a crime, it must be to deny the holocaust publicly with the intent to incite hatred of the Jewish people -- and that intent must be proven clearly in a Court of Law.
