This thread is explained below. From the "End Of SPOTM Thread." (3). We as a tribe must think of a charity, or non-profit. We should collectively as a group donate a small amount of money to this group, so that by the end, we'll have collectively donated a large amount of money. Again, a thread where we can think of a charity, and where an individual can say how much they donated, so we can add it up. Right now, we should be thinking of what charity to donate to. Please discuss below, and if you have any ideas regarding this, share them!

I really like the idea of www.heifer.orgThey donate animals to families in poor countries so that the family may benefit from the milk/eggs/wool/etc. $5000 buys an "Ark" of animals. Can you imagine having a SPOTM Ark?!

According to the Pogotribe age demographic, most of us are underage so money may be an issue for a lot of us, but I think it might be worth a shot.

Even if the demographic is underage, if every person here donated just a dollar, we would have a lot.

I was thinking about an idea and I did some research on previous posts to see if someone posetd something similar, and I found this: Actually I think there has to be multiple projects which are dedicated towards a single goal - raising money. Maybe this would be a good time to start a paypal account for the tribe were any project which we manage to monetize on we would donate to that? Which would be spent on our cause when we come up with it. The account should be kept in safe hands and should be handled with TOTAL transparency. I've been part of quite a few communities which raised money to keep the board (and features) running, instead this would be donated (or invested) in something which would fight FOR this cause. This was all to be done in my project, (the actual project was about raising money for the account) maybe if there already is an account it would take less pressure off it. </suggestion> With that said, I think we should keep money as a secondary goal for projects and start out from the question "how can we make SPOTM a better place?" rather than "how can we raise money for the SPOTM account?". That is why I didn't suggest the SPOTM donation account before. To not jeopardize other peoples thinking as regards projects. What if there was a SPOTM paypal account? We could make projects from that. Example: "Internet sale" for charity (yes, I just made that name up): Now, I don't really know how neither paypal nor internet sites such as Ebay or Amazon work, but I suppose I could still share this idea. Let's say we have many people that are able and willing to sale some useless (to them but not necessarilly for the buyer) but relatively valuable items they've got, through the internet. Those people could make an account on a shopping website and all of them could use the SPOTM paypal. That way the money they get by selling said items would go the the SPOTM paypal (we could also buy items sold by other SPOTM users). And we use SPOTM's paypal to donate to a charity (like Heifer)
