I've seen a lot of unreasonable hate in the past few years. What I mean is that people hate [insert noun here] for no real reason.
A prime example is Justin Bieber. In my honest opinion, Justin's music is not as bad as most of the crap on the radio. He has some form of talent. People say they hate him severely and even go as far as to threaten his life. Why do people hate this one person? He hasn't done anything bad.
Another example is Twilight. Although people say it is a "bad" book, have you even read it? It can't be that bad. To say you hate it and its author is unwarranted and is pretty ignorant.
What do you guys think, and what are some more examples?

Glee.
Most of my female friends love it, most of my male friends hate it. Personally, I don't like the show (I'm just not into the whole singy-dancey thing for television) but I don't hate it either. The singers are talented and the show has a good message. It's not my cup of tea, but there's no reason to hate it.
Half of the haters haven't even watched the show, too.

I love Glee. Society really makes people hate things unreasonably.

I know. If people just stepped back and looked at something for what it really is, instead of hating it because it's the cool thing to do, we'd have a generally happier society.

Great point, Alex. *thumbs up for this thread*
One that really gets to me personally is Freemasonry. I'm a Mason, and I often come across religious nuts or conspiracy theorists who AREN'T Masons (and have never seen what we do) - going around saying that we do all sorts of stuff from brainwashing children to devil worshiping.

I suppose we owe the hate to the bandwagon effect, at least to some degree. Besides pop-stars (like Justin Beiber) I cannot think of any examples right now, but yeah, I agree with you. Btw, I've never heard anybody go as far as to say they hate the author of twilight without even having read the book 0.0.

We're very impressionable creatures...Racism is a perfect example. Like the guy who said "I DON'T WANNA SOUND RACIST, BUT I DON'T WANT A BLACK MAN RUNNING MY COUNTRY". We're also taught to have prejudices and certain temperaments towards others, either directly or through observation.

That makes me angry. Racism/Religionaism/Facism/Prejudice makes me angry altogether. I know this obese girl on youtube that sings like an angel. Can you guess why she isn't famous? Record labels think people won't buy her music based solely on the fact that she is fat. It is sad that our society runs on looks.

I do realize that today's Masons have nothing to do with the one's of the past. But what do you people do exactly? 2 me it looks like it's just a bunch of old man that have 2 much time on their hands. But if you are really creating a world government and are planning to kill 3/4 of the worlds population the sign me up!

Bad memories, historically speaking. Regardless of ideology, the reality is that facism and oppression go hand in hand.

Why do people hate this one person? He hasn't done anything bad. I completely agree (except for the part about liking his music. I haven't heard anything by him, so I don't know if I like it or not.) But I don't think it's fair just to dislike him because you don't like how he looks or what he sings about. He clearly knows how to make money, and make people happy, and that is, at least, good enough for me. I have respect for him, and I do think it's fun to make fun of him (as I do with all celebrities), but when it becomes a hateful attempt at humor, I think it's rude and uncalled for. I can say that I do hate it. I have read enough of it, and read about it. (And I saw the first movie). I also don't agree with a lot of what Stephanie Meyer believes or the reasons why she writes (as she has spoken about in interviews). I think she completely butchered the concept of vampires, and I am upset that she even called them vampires in the first place (they clearly don't have many of the characteristics of vampires). I don't go off on tangents about why it's bad or why I don't like it, but I do think it's bad, and I don't like it. For the most part I agree with you. I hate when people have unreasonable hate for rap. I completely understand hating mainstream rap, but disregarding and even disrespecting the genre all together is just unfair. Um...another example would be Tim Burton. A lot lately I've heard people say "Oh Tim Burton movies suck, cuz they're all the same, and because he just always makes Johnny Depp some wacky character, etc. etc." But honestly, give the man the credit he is due. He is an amazing director. Glee. Most of my female friends love it, most of my male friends hate it. Personally, I don't like the show (I'm just not into the whole singy-dancey thing for television) but I don't hate it either. The singers are talented and the show has a good message. To take a blow to my masculinity points: I read the whole freaking series. My thoughts: 1st book: Meh, ok. 2nd book: FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU- 3rd book: CRAP 4th book: I think I couldn't hate it as much as 2 & 3 because i had just read through all of them, but it was BAD.

Aww, I love little Justina!
See? It's just the "hip" thing to do. Hate Justin Bieber. I agree that he has talent. Not my type of music per say but it's not bad. But, if we're all not hating one thing, we're hating each other.
This has been a post by Zang pulled out of his ass on the spot

LIKE THIS THREAD
I have friends.. Much older than Justin Bieber.. And 6/9 (hahalol) of them would like to shoot Justin Bieber in the head. And they're serious.
I can see this with 10 year olds.. But.. These people are older and more mature than that..

Oh god.. Bieber just said he was pro-life.. That might make a dent in his mostly-girl fan-base. I don't see why people want to kill him because of his MUSIC.. Maybe this might be a reasonable reason to hate him.. However, as CNN point's out: Who gives a crap?
He's not in a very powerful political position.
