So, I'm a pretty big fan of anime movies (but not shows). So I thought I'd make a thread about it.
So what are some of your favorite anime movies, guys?
Here are some of mine: -Spirited Away -Castle in the Sky -My Neighbor Tottoro -Porco Rosso -Howl's Moving Castle -Metropolis -Tekkonkinkreet -Paprika -Kiki's Delivery Service -Grave of the Fireflies -Whisper of the Heart -Memories -Steamboy +more (that I can't think of right now)
There's also a lot more that I haven't seen, that I'd like to, so if you guys have any suggestions, please, lay them on me.

Eden of the East.
It's a show, but they've got a movie version of the series and 2 other films.

Paprika is a friggen' acid trip. It's like Inception before Inception came out. In fact, I think Christopher Nolan said that inspiration for Inception came from Paprika (the novel, anyway)

Nolan did, indeed say that Inception was inspired by Paprika. He forgot to mention a certain Scrooge McDuck comic that Inception also borrows heavily from - but would you rather admit that you were inspired by an anime acid trip - or Ducktales?

I don't remember that much of Paprika, but I remember liking it and also that the soundtrack was pretty cool. I just recently watched Death Note: L: Change the World (is not an anime movie, but it is related, right ?). I would talk about how there are so many things that are not like in the anime or whatever, but I actually couldn't care less. I enjoyed it.

I've been meaning to watch them.

^Yep, that's the third and last of them. I actually skipped the first two because a friend, who had watched only the firt two, told those weren't that good, so I only watched the last one which is also the one that's less related to the anime/manga (and thus, the one that has the more new elements, I suppose). There is also a light novel that I want to read, which, I heard, is supposed to be a little more canon than the movie.

I've only seen Miyazaki Anime movies, and I absolutely loved every single one. I need to look up these other ones.

Actually, on his page, it says this in the "Other Works" subsection:
Whisper of the Heart, 1995 film: Screenwriter, storyboards, executive producer, sequence director
I guess that is one of his movies, or he at least helped with it.

The Evangelion Rebuild movies
So far the first two movies make up for all the BS from the original anime, for serious
Right now, only "Evangelion 1.01: You are (not) alone" is out on DVD, but Evangelion 2.0 is being translated
Anyways - with the movies, you can see Evangelion, and it's actually well written story, without the BS, and less depression. Also, not nearly as much whining.

Miyazaki makes amazing movies I used to watch Kiki's Delivery Service all the time when I was younger. I haven't seen Spirited Away but I want to. And I love Ponyo I have also been meaning to have a live action DN movie marathon party thing with my friend lol...I haven't seen them but I did watch L's death scene and...I was dissapointed. But I plan on watching them nonetheless.
