I'm sure some people clicked on this, wondering what NaNoWriMo is, and maybe how it is pronounced. NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month, and it's pronounced Na-No-WRY-Mo.
What it is, is in the month of November, you try to write 50,000 words for your novel in 30 days. It's a lot of fun, and is a great way to start on a story you've had brewing around your head.
I know November is a few months away, but I run the area here, and I've also got a story or two bouncing around my head that would be good for NaNo.
So who is participating this year? Have you done it before?

I might participate if I am not too busy. Who would have thunk it. Me, busy!

I wanted to do it last year, and had stuff planned, but I just never got started. I think I was still on vacation when November started, so I was being even lazier than usual. I want to this year. But with all the classes I'm taking, I'm not sure if I'd actually be able to and live to tell the tale.
Pun intended.

Won in 2008 ("Painted Souls") and 2009 ("The Black War"). I may end up writing my third draft of Painted Souls for 2010; that draft is in the planning stages right now. That said, I might just get started on it before then; I'm not sure yet.

I haven't done NaNoWriMo, but I tried Script Frenzy, which is a script version of NaNoWriMo. That didn't go so well because I didn't have a story with a substantial plot and I was on vacation for the first few days of the month. I have some inspiration for a futuristic novel based on a Monty Python sketch called "Bicycle Repairman." I'll probably end up writing about that unless I get a better idea in the next few months.
