My opinion on this matter:
"Well that was delicious!"
(If you're going to be an animal, you better be prepared for everything that comes with that.)

Going purely on the one furry I've met being a furry seems to act as some sort of comfort blanket, you dont like who you are so you pretend to be something else.
He was odd, had poor social skills and admited that when he was comfortable he barked like a wolf.
According to him he was a well ajusted individual in comprassion to other furries.

Being furry doesn't mean that we're (yes, I'm going to count myself since I'm borderline for the sake of argument) any different from anyone else. Yes, there are extremes as there are in any trend, everything has a downside; but just because there are a few awkward people amongst us does not mean that we are all like this. Furry's are accepting and understanding, and they encourage certain eccentricities that would otherwise be repressed. It's a great way to not only learn more about yourself but to make good friends along the way.

Pardon my random jumping-into-the-conversation thing, but could somebody please explain to me why exactly people hate furries? From what I know about them (which is little- almost nothing), they seem just fine. I've tried looking it up, but I just can't seem to understand the hatred.

I think in general furry hate is just a backlash against a subculture that in some peoples minds has "gotten out of hand" but let' s also understand that furry hate is fashionable. I doubt anyone posting here actually hates furries.

After reading the whole thread, I am still unsure as to whether we're talking about the social aspects of furry fandom or the sexual aspects...
