There's actually been some question as to whether lethal injection is humane. Recent inquiries into the matter have found that there might possibly be an excruciating level of pain that is masked by the sedatives, but not unnoticed by the person being executed.
If you believe in the death sentence, then move to Iran or some other place that practices sharia. An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind, and if you're okay with legally taking another's life, then you're already morally blind.

I don't know if I am alone in this but I actually think a rapist needs execution more than a murderer. There are so many different factors that could lead to a murder that the person can be reeducated (i.e: rage)
I don't believe a murderer should be executed or spend their whole lives in prision, rapists and pedophilies on the other hand... I don't know, once a person commits something like that I think they are a bit too sick to ever be reintroduced to society, And I'm someone who has quite a bit of empathy for most criminals.
And alot of people here argue it costs alot to execute someone in america, why is that? Is it all the red tape legally killing a person entials? whats so hard about once someone has been found guilty of a crime to kill them? Does the injection cost alot? Why not use a shot to the back of the head? That's painless isn't it? Help me!
Am I mental? Someone please tell me if so.

richieThe high price comes from the legal rigmarole involved in legally executing someone. They get a number of appeals and other legal measures that cost the state enormous sums of money to fund. And I too believe a pedophilic rapist to be a far worse degree of criminal than your run-of-the-mill murderer. And it is true that pedophiles are generally considered to be the most incurable of the mentally ill. Still, I don't think execution is the answer. I think psychological assistance should be constantly given, and if by some miracle it can be assumed within reasonable doubt that they will not offend again, they should be released. Otrherwise, they should be detained indefinitely. In most cases, I'm in favor of criminals' rights, as they tend to get the shaft in the name of "the public good" (a public they are a part of, mind you), but the statistics on repeat offenders and people who were in jail and later committed exponentially more heinous crimes upon being released are sickening. The system is unbelievably broken as-is, but even with the current system, the rate of repeat offenders is unacceptable. Those criminals who are absurdly likely to repeat should not be released, regardless of whatever guidelines for a sentence a particular crime carries.
