I don't know if this goes anywhere else, but I want to discuss the band Arctic Monkeys.
Does anyone like them? I just listened to their album "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not" like a week or so ago and I thought it was pretty awesome! My favorite songs so far are Dancing Shoes, When The Sun Goes Down, and I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor.
Song suggestions are welcome as well

i like the Arctic Monkeys, their lyrics are awesome =) ive got Favourite Worst Nightmare and Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not on CD but i wouldnt say im a die hard fan they had their moment at the top of my favourite bands but now they are (although still awesome) a sideliner i actually think they have a very good range of songs but i see Vorrik's point they have a very deffinate sound but they vary the mood of the songs enough to keep things interesting. the second album (Favourite Worst Nightmare) has a much different sound to their first album althought it still contains the Arctic Monkey essence which i think is probably largely due to Alex's voice and lyrics
Due to my laziness and short attention span, I have decided not to read your lengthy post.: Good band, good lyrics, have 2 albums, significant and recognisable sound without being to repetitive
=D

I'm a huge fan of the arctic monkeys! They are one of my favorite bands With my favorite song probably being Mardy Bum. And if you like them I highly suggest that you check out Franz Ferdinand. They have a really similar sound and great lyrics!!!

If anyone is interested in indie dance music and hasn't heard of Passion Pit, you MUST check them out NOW!
Recommended songs:
Little Secrets Sleepyhead The Reeling I've Got Your Number Folds In Your Hands
Aw, fuck it, just get the whole Manners EP
Maybe we should just turn this into a music thread?

they had their moment at the top of my favourite bands but now they are (although still awesome) a sideliner Same with Franz Ferdinand. Though, I did listen to them again the other day (since Amber/Morgan brought it up) and all my memories of loving them last summer washed over me. It was great. There are so many bands that I need to listen to again.

They're okay. Nothing special in my mind. I don't know if I'm a big fan of the latest indy/hipster musical trend becoming dominant mainstream. (Eg. Metric, Arcade Fire, Cage the Elephant, Cold War Kids, etc.) It all reminds me of guys like this:

Indie has been around for a while, and it's still not THAT mainstream yet. You should check out some legit indie bands like Grizzly Bear, Beach House, Sleighbells etc.
