Recently, I've been really into Board Games. But none of that crappy Monopoly, or boring Operation. I'm talking about the awesome world of INDIE BOARD GAMES/GAMES NO ONE ELSE HAS HEARD OF!
Know any awesome games that can't be found @ Wal-Mart? Post em' here!
For me my two Fav's are:
1) Last Night On Earth (Which I made a Forum Game out of) 2) Settlers of Catan

I'm not so hardcore at that stuff but my brother and his friends are super hardcore about that stuff.
One game they taught me once is called Guillotine. It's actually a card game, and I forgot how to play it.
OH!!!! If I'm allowed to get into cardgames... I love love love munchkin. But I never get to play it unless my brother is home from college. Because nobody else I know has any cards. ^_^
OH SNAP! I KINDA LIKE MUNCKIN! I've played it a while ago, I got kinda into it, but a lot of people were taking it a little too seriously for my tastes, but yeah, it's super fun!

I really like Agricola, Carcassonne, and sometimes Aquire. One of my favorite board games, however, is Pandemic. It's a co-op board game; I simply love the idea of a game in which everyone works towards winning together. I'm not any good at Settlers of Catan, though... One of these days, I swear I'm going to play a game of Arkham Horror. It's supposedly one of the longest board games to get through. I've played Power Grid, but I'm not a huge fan of it.
Have you heard of Board Game Geek? It's a fantastic resource for this sort of stuff: www.boardgamegeek.com/
I really like card games, too. Not the kind of card games that you play with a standard deck of cards, but card games like Fluxx and Monopoly Deal. (I promise you that Monopoly Deal is much better than the board game it's based off of. A round of Monopoly Deal goes much more quickly than a game of Monopoly.) I like card games so much, I'm working on making my own game. I just need to test it out more, and iron out all of the faults it has.
EDIT: Oh snap! I forgot about Munchkin! I've only played it once, unfortunately. I have a few friends who have a ton of cards, but we don't get many chances to get together for game nights.

@arkham Horror: I really want to get into that game, because it's 1-6 players, you can have a lot of fun, I've been watching reviews on the Tubes, but I don't think I want to shell out the dough yet...

I couldn't really tell you if these games were known or not since i hang out with major geeks who all play these sorts of games, but here goes:
Munchkin, favourite game of all time.(I can't spell favourite can I?) I just love the whole concept of creating these alliances which you will then break at the end of the game to get that one last level. Amayzing.
Settlers. I really like this game though I don't own it so I don't play it as often as would be good.
Magic TCG. It's an amayzing strategy game.
Some Vampire game I can't remember the name of. one was a vampire and the rest was vampire hunters. the vampire hunters did not know where the vampire was and the vampire could put out traps in his way. the objective was for the vampire to kill of the vampire hunters and for the vampire hunters to be the one who killed the vampire.
Some game where you controlled a robot by choosing how he was going to walk in the following round and the you objective was to destroy the other robots.
munchkin as well I think, though I've never played it.
What deck(s) do you play with? I've got a kamigawa // elf deck atm, but I'm still working on it. It's my first ever deck, I used to play with friends' decks
