Well, this idea stemmed from you saying that we could plan something around Dan being in NY, and I think that's a big part of it--getting YouTubers to attend. Maybe we could try to contact a bunch of YouTubers and see if they'd be interested in attending, which would make other people want to go. Or you could try to contact them and see if they would be interested in funding it or to help find sponsors? (also, eventually, promote it) May? Also, who says the vlogbrothers would want to work with us? Like, for example, expand on the concept of VidCon and maybe merge the two ideas together somehow?

Hey Linus. You're really cool.
Maybe VidCon could be at the same time. They could be connected. Wow, this is a really awesome thing we have going on right here!

John, everyone has different spring breaks...
What John wants to do is a lot different from VidCon. I doubt they'd want to collaborate, especially with a group of kids that doesn't know what they're doing.
May could work, since college kids would be done, but a lot of high schools (and lower) wouldn't be. I'm not sure how much of an impact that would have...

Do you think Dan would go even if it wasn't through Dan 3.0?

Dan is the closest connection we have in famous Youtubers. I say we utilize it as much as possible.

I think if we were to message a bunch of lesser-known YouTubers and they were all interested, their viewers would still want to go, and we'd get a lot of people. Plus I'm sure some of them are friends with better-known YouTubers. Like, one of my friends has like 10,000 subs, so some of his viewers might go. But he's also friends with Philip DeFranco, so maybe I could talk him into talking to Phil about it for us.
Also, we're focusing a lot of YT, but you originally said that it was for all interests. Is this based around YT, but with booths for other interests so we're not JUST talking about YT, or...? Because if it's based around YT, I could probably get in contact with the people that set up 7/8/9 and see if they'd be willing to help. (Even if it's not a YT thing, maybe I could talk to them about some tips for setting up this sort of thing)

Yeah I like the idea of finding YouTubers who could sponsor or find sponsors for this. And I think August would be good, but that should not be our center of attention.
Chelsea, I see you have a lot of connections, that's great!

This sounds like a really cool idea! Just a few things though... I don't think that we should have conflicting things at the ConCon.. (ie no twilight AND harry potter.. JUST harry potter stuff, but hey it'd be kinda amusing to see people fight about the two..) And I think we should come up with a definite list of things that we would DEFINITELY want at the convention..

Yeah, Chelsea, I want it to be about all things. If it was just a YT convention, it would be Vidcon all over again. I figure we work our way up. We get semi-large acts to come in ( www.twoshow.com/index.html ) and work our way up to more famous people.

Great idea, heres the grand schedule 1. Get all of the ideas ready, who's going to come, where is it going to be? How are we going to get the money? 2. Get sponsors and money together. 2.5. Make sure you can pay for everything. (BUDGET) 3 Buy/rent the land. 4. Get the people you want to come to come. (this includes workers, not just famous people) 4.5 Map out where you need to put everything 5. Buy the things that you need. 6. Get advertisements up 7. Go to Con Con
I'm just stating the obvious, so its going to be much more complicated than that.

Awesome project. I am also in New York so you could add me to that list. Anyway, I have created a wiki page here, where we can brainstorm ideas to make this work, and what should be there.

We should make a list of potential sponsors to ConCon. Then we could write them, saying what the project would consist of, and how would it benefit them.
I will do what I can to help.

Actually... we should, generally speaking, try to look out of the Youtube box... because now it sounds like we're planning VidCon all over again (Getting famous Youtubers to help us out/attending, appealing to youtube video viewers...). If we only reach out to Youtube people (tubers and viewers), it WILL be a Youtube thing. We should try to make contact with people outside Youtube too; entrepreneurs and such. I'm sure, with a nice proposition, we might make at least someone interested in supporting it.
Because, frankly speaking, if this is going to be the convention of conventions, it should all be about Youtube.

Hey Linus. You're still really cool.
Youtube should be a focus, but not the main focus. There should be more to it.

Hey Linus. You're still really cool. Youtube should be a focus, but not the main focus. There should be more to it. Thanks xD you too. And yes, right. Which is why we should also try to take into account that we should try to appeal to an audience beyond Youtube. Just sayin'. I mean, make contact with a number of Youtubers is good, but besides that, we should talk about what parts besides people involved with Youtube we could try to appeal to. But maybe that's a too big of a step at the time being?
