Not necessarily forever and a day, but maybe a day/weekend off a month. One of the things that really intrigued me about Dan 3.0 was the fact that, in terms of being a kind of experiment thing, it meant that despite limitations we as a Tribe are in charge of a single life--Dan's life. That means that we kind of have the responsibility for the upkeep of said life--kind of like being responsible for the life of your Sims, though not on the same level.
In that vein, I think it's important to keep in mind the ramifications of our challenges, and that maybe once or twice a month (maybe every two months, as the project goes on) there should be a kind of 'Give Dan a Break' coalition--one that organizes to give him the day off as time to relax and not worry about completing goals, and thus create less stress.
Just an idea, I guess.

I think this is a good idea, but we need to wait. We need to push it at first to get it going. After we get into the swing of things we can do it.

I think Dan has spent a lot less time focusing on goals, and a lot more time on technical stuff, than he thought...
I think we should give him time off when his goals take up most of his time...

Problem, goals can't be done if the technical side isn't addressed. In his daily routine editing/uploading comes before doing tasks/filming.

I can't say I fully appreciate his complaints of being so busy and stressed. So he has to work like ALL DAY...Guess what? Welcome to the real world with the rest of us.

He's used to working 6-8 hours a day. He's not used to working in a highly stressful environment, by himself, and not getting anything solved for 15 hours.

So you can give him emotional support...

It's weird because editing doesn't take a long time, it's uploading. Revision3 wants a specific format of video from him that takes aaaaaages longer than what he used to upload. These videos are also longer than his old videos. So even if he just sent the raw footage to someone to edit, uploading raw HD footage is just SLIGHTLY better. :/
His manager is trying to bribe his internet provider into giving him something to make his internet faster because he already has the fastest internet he could get.

WHy can't he just do tasks while the video is uploading or converting formats? Or does he lose connection often? I mean, if it were me, I would see where I spend most time WAITING. Is it waiting for the video to render after I am done editing? Then I should use that time to record footage for the day, such as buying tickets to see Danielle (something he hasn't shown us he has done), or working out (to prepare himself for the pogostick world record thing, if he is going to do that). Use his waiting time wisely, and I think he will be less stressed. Same goes for upload times... Does he lose connection, or is he waiting most of the time? If he is waiting, then perhaps he can just leave his computer alone and do something. I would complain my ass off too, if I was in front of the computer for 15 hours waiting to upload a video! Although I probably would look at porn to spend the time …

Well, the way he was talking in the video, he kept losing his connection, or it was timing out, or something to that effect. Which was causing him to be there.

Why doesn't someone suggest dan get a better internet connection? Or upload videos using a local library, once he is done editing...

I wasn't aware libraries had fast internet. I was under the impression that a lot of people using one connection bogs it down.

The term 'fastest internet connection he could get' can mean a lot of things. I run a lot of servers at work, and usually it's not the connection speed itself, but the timeout that will halt uploading...The timeout length can be changed on individual connections on any DNS server. Methinks maybe a new provider may be in order.

Can he get a new provider? Some places don't have a lot of options.

Can he get a new provider? Some places don't have a lot of options. Uh, here in Lincoln there is basically one provider(Road Runner via Windstream) There is another one called Internet Nebraska, dont know how good they are.

I don't know if anyone has noticed... but I don't think the question of the topic 'Give Dan Time Off?' is relevant anymore, since we now know he gets weekends off

He still does tasks and records on weekends. It is just that there is no video released... But that only means there is more sh!t to put in mondays video

Iin his last video, he said he would do the tour on Friday so we would get to see it on Monday, so I assumed that he just didn't to tasks on weekends xD
