On Wednesday, September 1st I will be building something out of legos: revision3.com/dan30/task/lego-sculpture-structureThe question remains, however, what? We need to decide what I'm going to build and then come up with a plan for building it. Is there any way the PogoTribe could collaboratively design something? Would that be too much work? I really know very little about legos-- Is there a place I could order a bunch of them? Is there a place I can order specific, individual lego pieces? Any other questions I should be asking you guys? I'll be updating as the conversation progresses... Bricklink.com is the unofficial AFOL's (Adult Fan Of LEGO) lego marketplace, where one can effectively order most parts in grand quantities. I would suggest going to a few of the LEGO forums around the web for more help. Eurobricks.com and builders lounge spring to mind. Websites such as Mocpages.com, brickshelf.com, and even flickr.com have an abundance of LEGO MOCs (My Own Creation) available to browse at for free. And please, it's one LEGO, several LEGO. Please don't put an 's' at the end; it pains us LEGO users. As for what to build... How about a rendition of the south pole of the moon, or a drum set? I have built several functioning Rubik's cubes in the past... they're not easy, and if you're going for something original all the designs have already been taken. Portraits/mosaics take up a massive amount of time, money, and elements if you want it done properly. Also, ldd (or Lego Digital Design) can be rendered effectively useless, as the virtual designer only uses 1/3 of all existing LEGO elements. Programs such as LDraw are a vast improvement, though I can't recall if it works for us Mac users. If you need any more help, just ask.

I'm with the moon, and D3PO Idea
Alternatively, you could always just go simple, and build the worlds "DAN 3.0" out of legos, and put it in the background of your episodes. Or a time lapse of you building it as an intro. Or something. Probably something.

Here: ldd.lego.com/This program allows you to build somethin digitally out of legos for free. Everyone should submit designs using it. That way, Dan can follow our instructions, instead of trying to figure shirt out. RIght now I am working on a munny design I would like Dan to build. If you like kidrobot please vote on the munny idea in my sig. Also, if you use this program, they have an option where you can purchase ONLY the pieces you need for your design. Good plan. I also sugest making a time-lapse when you're building it, that 'll be pretty awesome!

I suggest you should make a Spongebob Squarepants Lego. Dimensions(would be): Width 5-6 inches Height 17-18 inches Lenght 12-13 inches
If you can make it. Make Patrick.

If you're going to do a Rubik's Cube you should make the Superflip position in 20"x20" (Cube20.org)

I think definately something that has to do with Dan3.0, either himself, a rubics cube, the moon, whatever, but something from his universe. but something simple...nothing too difficult, since he's the one doing it (if he doesn't happen to be a secret lego building expert).

A giant rubik's cube is not creative, original, or artistic in any way.

you should build the thing you most like in the world. That way it'll give you a goal you really want to achieve.

You should build a huge castle. Or a scale model of the leaning tower at Pisa. A mask/helmet? A chair?
