Yep - I've checked it out and the payment for the domain for another year was declined (obviously). It doesn't look like we'll be able to access the files until the domain is reactivated.

A quick solution (though not ideal) could be to log into his domain registrar account and change the method of payment to some else's credit card (temporary) or give a trusted someone else the login credentials and THEY could do it.
Either way, it should be done within the next day or two, otherwise it will no longer be cached on the DNS and the nameservers could take up to a couple days to re-direct once the domain IS renewed. (Worst case scenario)

Dan only bought the domain for a year. I don't know if HostGator is still hosting the old forum. Well...you could use dot.tk if you didn't want to spend any money. I suppose it's up to the admins/Dan. Maybe you want to discuss it with him...or something!

We could temporarily use dot.tk while this gets sorted out, or ca.cc (is it ca.cc or co.cc?)

We'll just end up with adverts being shown. Not worth it seen as it won't bring the files back.

That's exactly my question... :/ Thanks anyways, but we could always access it with pogotribe.proboards.com. The problem is the wiki and the archive.

It would still be possible for me to download all that stuff (archive, wiki...) and host it elsewhere but then the old copies under southpoleofthemoon.com would have to be replaced with the new ones after southpoleofthemoon.com is reactived in order to preserve edits made to the wiki during the southpoleofthemoon.com downtime. I'm not sure that it's worth the hassle, especially as we don't know exactly how long it will be until southpoleofthemoon.com is reactivated. I could get all that stuff online again just to get southpoleofthemoon.com back the day after...

You really should work on knowing what you're talking about before actually saying anything, Raydawn. Dan said this in an e-mail to me yesterday:

Nah. He tried sliding his business card (OMIGOSH PEOPLE STILL USE THEM!) onto the terminal, and he gave the BS the business credit card.
That's how he got ahold of his info.
