Bomb...You're not helping, regardless of opinion. We're trying to improve the situation we've found ourselves in. Either leave this discussion, or stop hindering progress via dis-encouragement.
Any part of that you don't understand?
Edit: K, let's get back on topic...

He doesn't want it dead. All he's saying is that it will never come back to life. I kinda agree to be honest

One thing is agreeing with that, and another completely different one is simply sitting back being pessimistic.
If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.

Some of us are trying to get the ball rolling on brainstorming a solution. Not saying "HEY GUYS, WE NEED TO SAVE THE MOON", but figuring out HOW to save the moon. We're well aware of pessimistic opinions. But those simply don't help the situation.

Well, since it seems that the general concensus is that SPOTM is a zombie... can we alter the moon at the top of the page so it's green? Start calling ourselves the ZombieTribe?
To explain my logic - SPOTM=Dead, but SPOTM is still kicking, therefore SPOTM=living dead=zombie

Okay, this is where we need ryan aka tyme if he had a ton of marketing experience!(I kid, I actually used to be in marketing myself, and that's what we're dealing with here.)
Q: Okay, so what's the glue that holds any forum or community together? A: Interest and context.
Q: So what's our interest and context? A: We are like minded in the sense that our most devoted members are freethinkers, generally open minded and progressive.
Q: Okay. So how does knowing this help us? A: We can identify other forums & communities based on similar values, and advertise ourselves in those forums
Q: How do we find those communities and forums? A: It's simple, really. It can be anything from an online forum to an IRL organization that has to do with anything that is inclusive, universalist or multicultural.
...It's a start.

It IS a very good start.

Keep in mind all of the different forms in which communities exist:
Website Forums (Like SPOTM) Artistic Showcase communites (Like 4Chan or DeviantArt) Facebook groups (For example, a Facebook group about anti-racism)
And THEN think about specific organizations or groups that fit the bill. (That is, our Interests and Context) A few that I'm involved in OR know of would be: -Unity Church (Similar to Unitarian...Very Universal and non-dogmatic) -Freemasonry -Gay Pride Centres (I'm not Gay, but I used to live LITERALLY nextdoor to my city's Gay Pride Centre! Nice people Srsy.) -Multicultural groups -Special Interest Groups (Eg. Equal Rights)
And so on...

I'M ACTIVE!1
I originally stumbled upon this forum after watching a few Dan videos... And to think now I have everything SPOTM pumping through my veins... crazy stuff man...
I think Dan is gone... he's not coming back... So we should let go of Dan and completely pilot this thing ourselves.
This forum is unbelievable in what it can achieve... it has the potential for AMAZING things. And we might be able to get this thing big. I'm talking "Google" or "Facebook" big...

Aust just remembers me cuz im great.
But I agree with all this, nix the dan 3.0 section. I, unfortunately, was not around when the moon was considered, "alive", so i have nothing to compare the moon today to. However, I like the way the moon is right now, just a handful of people, having civilized (*cough*) discussions about a range of topics. I wouldn't be completely against the idea of marketing ourselves to other forums, I just think the moon is good the way it is now.

So, really - my posting this is just another reminder to people *cough*radicallyBlue*uncough* to get rid of that damn section - it's really all I was trying to say - but in a condescending, passive-aggressive way I don't have administration powers on proboards (...yet), and I'd need to ask permission to the admins first. Nonetheless, I can see what you mean. If you all think the section no longer belongs here, then suggest it in the suggestions forum, that's where the admins will answer and possibly make changes. I honestly don't know, I've been mostly a lurker (especially after my task proposals failed miserably) and started making scripts for the moon as I wanted (and still want) to develop my coding skills and the moon happened to need some cool new features, but I do remember the sweet debates I used to have in this same section. I think building up a following again that follows a clear goal (which we should decide, it might be changing the world or just chat in here, but it should be clear about what it is) is enough to get the moon back up. Now, this goal may or may not involve Dan 3.0 (or 2.0). What also is important is how we get that following back...

Another thing I vote we remove/change is our motto. "Welcome to our Universe" is too Dan Brown-esque.
