^ Also called the Principle of Explosion. It states that once a contradiction has been accepted, anything at all can be inferred from it.
If one states something is both true and not true, one can logically derive any conclusion from it.
It works like this:
1: A is true, and A is false 2: A is true (from 1) 3: A or B are true for any value of B (from 2) 4: A is false (from 1) 5: B is true (from 3 & 4)
Basically, because we assume A is true, we know that A or B must also be true (because just A is true, meaning that whether or not B is true, A or B is true). Since A is also false, for A or B to be true B must be true. The only flaw in this logic, of course, is the contradiction of A being both true and false.

/steals that example
A: 1+1=2 is TRUE AND 1+1=2 is FALSE. B: 1+1=2 is TRUE. (From A, breaking the AND conjunction.) C: 1+1=2 OR The Flying Spaghetti Monster Exists! is TRUE. (From B, including a TRUE fact in an OR conjunction with any other statement.) D: 1+1=2 is FALSE. (From A, breaking the AND conjunction.) E: The Flying Spaghetti Monster Exists! is TRUE. (From C, D. If one half of the OR statement is FALSE, the other must be TRUE.)

I know I exist - "I think, therefore I am." This makes sense. I don't know much of anything else, but if I disbelieved everything my senses told me I would go crazy, and that would be no fun, so I'm trusting them because they're all I've got

not trusting your senses basically means, you could live in a matrix

Didn't read much into it, but it seems flawed as it assumes that there is a 1 in N chance we are in a simulation, where N is the number of simulations future humans will run on the past plus one (reality). It misses the bit where simulated humans wouldn't be conscious, instead all run by a central computer. The conscious simulation only applies to Matrix-style simulations where actual humans are plugged into an otherwise simulated universe, at which point we would be those humans and in the future, not ourselves a simulation. Moreover, I doubt future-us would choose to forget we were future-us while reliving the past, though I could always be wrong.
