Everybody saying that they don't know why we have so many administrators, I'm going to try and answer this to the best of my ability. Because. Oh alright. Thanks.

Awesome.
All the talk about improvement is like music to my ears. This last week has without a doubt been turbulent, and I hope that the proposed increased transparency from the admins will make members understand their decisions better. And I hope that the admins really take the chance to explain their decisions where an explanation is due, as to avoid confusion as much as possible.
I'm glad to see that the admins seems to be up for the challenge, and I'm excited to see what might come of this =)

The admins' roles on the forum are unlike roles on other forums, Howso? I'm not contesting the statement, I'm genuinely curious =P

Howso? I'm not contesting the statement, I'm genuinely curious =P As others have mentioned, admins on other forums are generally only admins because 1) they created the site or 2) they make technical changes. We're more like moderators on other sites. Not so much the clean-up side of it (once we do get mods, that is), but the "example" setting/guiding side of it. But honestly, I'm not sure how some of the administrative changes (as in, one with only moderator powers couldn't make them) would even happen with 2 or 3. <.< Unless you have one admin that is insanely good at every thing technical and is full of free time, it doesn't seem like to me anything would get done. But then again, maybe that's because we do more administrative things than other sites? I really don't know. I'm not saying that I don't think 9 is too many, however. In hindsight, I would have said something when the number was suggested. The only real problem with having 9 is communication (especially when 3 or 4 are in radically different time zones). But we're working with what we have, and I think I will find I like having 9 when the dust settles.

I hope that I'm not the only only one who did not experience any of this animosity from or towards the admins or this chaos. I never even knew that there was going to be a new admin... (i honestly not sure i really cared until a few minutes ago...I'm a newb, ok?). I'm glad that there has been a sucess out of the chaos that seemed to have arisen. I will from now on take extra care of what's going on the moon.

I did notice all this crazy stuff that was mentioned, but to be honest I don't think I was really a part of it myself. I read through the threads where most of it happened, but since I remained somewhat neutral throughout my reading, I never actually posted. All the same, I am really glad this is getting cleared up. And I, along with apparently some other people in the tribe, think we never quite made it to level 4. We came close, I think, but I'm not sure we were ever all the way there. We can certainly make it there though, if we all work together and stick to our values. My opinion about the admins' secretiveness. I do think the admins should tell the tribe more things than they do now, seeing as we are all part of the tribe and are all working together to move it forward. However every single thing does not need to be completely open to the public. I guess what I'm saying here is that I agree with what has been previously stated - that unless it is specifically stated that a matter should be kept secret, the admins should be willing to share information with the tribe and not withhold it. It's kind of like when the government of the U.S. withholds information from the people of the nation, sometimes for good, but other times not so much... the people have a right to know. So anyway, just by reading through this thread, it already seems we are once again heading in the right direction. Let's keep this up!

While during my short stay here, I honestly never believed that we were a level 3 I did believe that we we were close to it though!! This may because I haven't spent so much here. But that is just my assessment of the scenario

I am kinda new here so I do know if I fully graphs what it is that Dan is talking about ,but here is what I think 1. I feel bad for the gut being put in the middle of it I Must have been awkward you. 2. I feel that the admins should take a little time out of there day (like five minutes or so) and remember what it is like to not be an admin this way they can get some perspective on the situation. 3.Finally I could only think of reasons as to why non-admins would feel the way they do: a)They are jealous that the admins are admins when they have been here longer (or think they are better) b)They don't respect what the admins actually do This Is just my Opinion and I hope I didn't offend any one in the process of stating them ;D

In my opinion, we were at least on a level 3 stage (I'm great... but you're not). And while I don't want this thread to turn into a debate about that, I'm just reiterating my point.

I have seen some of the problems, but not that serious. I guess I just wasn't paying attention.

>finally< transparency of the admins has been addressed! The only problem I ever had was that the admins were not telling us anything. This whole time I've been thinking future projects about the community may be better if they'd choose one to work on after discussing with the community? I've always been accustomed to developers consulting their userbase before making any changes, and quite frankly I felt like the admins were doing little to no moderation, forum type work and were essentially a club. If you want us not to think you're a club, please show us some of the stuff y'all do? About the userbase being friendlier... I really haven't ever seen a more docile userbase anywhere on the internet <_< Lastly, for the triad projects, if any of the original 7 decide adding a new member is allowed I'd join a triad XP Srsly, we need more communication with admins though... maybe admins could do pogotoks?

Hey, just to let you know, I didn't notice any admin drama at all. Now, without stirring any animosity, this means one of two things. Either the admins clearly think they are a much bigger influence here than they are perceived or I don't pay enough attention to these important (though that word is debatable) things.
