I voted for ending wordsuck.
Feeling all the others are too specific, except for make everyone happy.. which is just insanity when no one knows what happiness is; happiness is different for every person, and in some cultures happiness isn't even important (vs. spiritual fulfillment or serving others or what not) like it is to us. Plus it's too vague, and everyone can justify doing whatever the heck they like if they say "well, it makes me happy" which I guess could be a good thing so long as it doesn't infringe on anyone else's happiness.. but that's a very cellular little society we'd be creating, and we already have societies like that... that's the whole problem! Not to mention few people even know what will make them happy. we think we do but we don't.
We can end world suck by spreading knowledge and understanding. Maybe this will make happiness easier to obtain?

I think what you've managed to do successfully there, Rebecca, is give the idea of Ending Worldsuck through combining the Noble Causes "Open Knowledge" and "Open Communication", which would then cause an increase in Universal Happiness. Combining these all together doesn't sound actually sound like a bad idea at all.

I still vote for my idea. Well I really like that idea, and I reckon it should definitely have a place as a part of whatever Noble Cause we all decide on!

One thing absolutely effects the other, we've gotta create an ecosystem of awesome.

Okay, here's a question: How do we all want to take it from here? Like, once the poll starts getting not many more votes to we want to select a few of the top voted and try and discuss which one would work best, or do we want to continue conversation here. How do we want to take this? (I just want to make sure we keep discussion constant so it doesn't stop.) Oh right! The second one is meant to say "Open Global Knowledge". I can't edit my poll. :-\

I think it should be something more concrete.

If we're going for inversal happiness that would include world peace and ending world hunger. Ending mental illness as well. If you go by 3:43 into www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXIeFJCqsPs. Apparently around 30% of Americans are very happy. If we want 100% of the world we've got a LOT of work to do.

The categories are not "concrete" enough, and it's really confusing, I think that first we should discuss like a general poll of what kind of categories we should use, (like this post), and based on that create a final poll with the specific categories.

None of these are clearly enough defined for me to vote. :/ Of them, I suppose the best is ending world suck. I don't like "universal happiness." I'm all for making the world a better place, but a world without sadness would be... boring as fuck. You can't really have happy without sad. agreed, without pain you can't experience pleasure

Or, perhaps even make Noble Cause something relatively vauge and then do lots of smaller but more concrete things to get closer to achieving the Noble Cause. agreed, without pain you can't experience pleasure Now, I'm not sure for definite - but I don't think this is true. Hmm...I think I might ask in Debate Club!

Well it would be impossible to have happiness all the time, because we cant prevent sad things from happening. You grandpa dies, your dog gets run over. Those type of sad are good, because it means that you loved. I don't like being sad, but I love the joy of being able to love.

Well that's very true, so perhaps we should try and redefine what we mean by Universal Happiness? So perhaps rather than it meaning that everybody is always happy all of the time, it should mean that most people are happy most of the time?
