Hi everyone! I'm Fiona, or The ElfLady, and as some of you may recall, I used to be extremely active on the SPOTM forums, and the Wiki. However, I have this rather annoying and well known disorder called ADHD, or Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder. As well as a myriad of other bothersome symptoms, one thing that I am extremely bad at time management. The amount of times I have had a month or two to do a school project, and then I end up completing the entire thing the night/morning before is unmeasurable. I just can't do it. I have medications and counseling to control my ADHD, but the effects don't go deep enough to help my time managenent skills. (wow that was long, summary: I have ADHD. It makes me bad at time management.)When I first got involved on the Moon, there was a big snow storm, and I was out of school for over a week. This gave me a bunch of free time. But now, sadly, I am in school with no breaks until the summer (ironically because of the snow storm). I love SPOTM, I really do. The people here are so intelligent, open-minded, independent, hard-working, and determined, and I love you all! I think what Dan has created here is beautiful, and something unique. There has been some trouble (ironically it started just as I stopped being involved ) but most everyone has stuck together, and are still here! I really want to be a part of this community, but I need your help. I have had trouble managing my time, so that I can be active on the forums, complete my schoolwork, and still have time for the rest of my life! I would like to ask you guys for some advice on this! How do you stay an active member of this community, while still keeping other areas of your life thriving? Any tips are appreciated! Thank you, Fiona <3

I guess most members have a similar problem if they're still studying (and even when they're not they might have too..). The thing I usally do is to first do my homework and then check up on SPOTM and all internet-related things..
I guess that one never has enough time for SPOTM even if you were here an entire time, you'll still miss a lot (time zones FTL!)
so yeah, that'll be my 2 cents..

I actually have no idea how, but I manage to be pretty active and still do pretty well in school.

Multi task. Wash your teeth in the shower, eat at the pc, study on the bus. Download audio books of any material you have to study (or get someone to read/record them for you) and listen to them wherever you can.
Dedicate days. There are days where I keep myself off facebook or certain websites so I'd waste less time on the PC. I usually know what sites I should (and shouldnt) visit before I go on so I don't waste time.

In real life life?
Yeah, I don't manage my time. My best friend is procrastination.

Well during school time I just try and make it so after school I do my work and all that, and just try and and dedicate a certain amount of time each evening to the moon! It's gonna get harder soon, because I got big, important exams coming up. But then sometimes I lucky like now to get a three day weekend.

As the queen of overburdening herself, I can tell you that the best solution is to stop sleeping. Sleep is a complete waste of time, and you would able to get a lot more done if you just stopped.

But isn't sleep kinda... important?

But isn't sleep kinda... important? Absolutely not! Sleep is just a governmental ploy to keep people busy so they have less time to think about how they're being mistreated by their government. Fight the power! Don't sleep!

In school the other day, I expressed how I'm afraid of sleep because it keeps me from being productive, and everyone looked at me like I'm a crazy person... I dun get it.

I'm horrible at time management, too (I think I have ADD or ADHD, but my parents won't get me tested). I also check out the forums at school during my study hall. Sure, I'm supposed to be doing "work," but nobody else does it, so why should I? Haha.
And Chelsea, if I could eliminate sleep from my schedule, I would. Today I came home from school and crashed for six hours. Now I have to do all my homework. And yet, I'm watching youtube videos and I'm on SPOTM.

I gave that up last summer. Worked out well. I would suggest this.

I understand your dislike of sleep, and if I could eliminate it healthily, I would... but I can't. I only got four hours of sleep last night and I was falling asleep during class.

From my understanding, those, sadly, weren't jokes. Well, the third one was.

If you don't sleep for days on end.. you will start going crazy. I have done it, and the feeling is horrible to say the least.
