Hey Tribal Humanoids,
I just picked up Nerdfighter, and vlogbrother, John Green's book "Paper Towns."
I was wondering if any of you had read it, and if you did, what you thought of it.
Would you recommend his other books?
Do you think he likes swiss cheese?
Things like that.
Thanks for the help.

I want to read it, but I don't think they sell it in Europe.. I'm thinking about ordering it something. Is it worth it?

You should be able to get it through Amazon. Though I'm not sure how Amazon works overseas.

I'm pretty sure it'll work out. ^^ Though when my friends wanted to order a CD for my birthday it took about 3 months to get here. o.o

I've read all three of his books and they're all great. I'm not very good at explaining why I like something but I thought Paper Towns was his best book, Looking For Alaska is my favourite, but An Abundance of Katherines is probably the book I would reread the most, if that makes any sense.
Either way all three books are worth picking up and I definitely recommend all of them.

I've been trying to start reading abundance of katherines, but lately, I've been having too much english assignments so I don't have any time...
But I have read paper towns and I really like it! I think I have to reread paper towns and looking for alaska one more time, to refresh my memory, but from what I remember, I think I might like paper towns better? I'm not sure... alaska is being made in a movie or something... so...

I had no idea that John Green wrote that book.
This makes me want to read it even more.

I read all of his books, but I can't wait for "Will Grayson, Will Grayson" to come out in April.

I just finished reading Paper Towns the other day and I have to say, I really enjoyed it. It's really easy to read as well as being totally hilarious at points. And the whole underlying message of the story (which I won't spoil) was pretty interesting.
The only thing was, I thought the ending was kinda anti-climatic. Anyone else agree? (or disagree!)
As for it being sold in Europe, I'm in Ireland and I have it, but I got it as a birthday present from my friend. I wouldnt've thought he bought it online though, I'd say they do sell it in shops, here at least. I'll ask him and let you know, if it's any help =)

I haven't personally read any of John Green's yet but my roommate just finished Paper towns and he can't stop talking about it, loves it dearly but I honestly don't know anything about it BTW UnfairBear he completely agrees that the ending was anti-climatic

UnfairBear yes, my roommate is a very VERY proud nerdfighter, actually it's through his love of the Vlogbrothers that I discovered Dan, so I guess I owe him

Cool. I keep meaning to check out the nerfightaria community, it sounds pretty cool. SPOTM came first though =P
Gotta read John's other books too. Anyone have any opinions on those? How similar are they to Paper Towns?

Looking for Alaska is kinda similar in that there are characters in Paper Towns that resemble characters in Looking for Alaska. Miles (LFA) bares some similarities with Q (PT), and Alaska (LFA) also bares some similarities with Margo (PT). Having said that they are two very different books (but they are both great).
An Abundance of Katherines is pretty much completely different, the only similarity between the two that I can think of is that they both contain road trips.
EDIT: Also, I agree that Paper Towns was a little anti-climactic, but it wasn't what I was expecting either. Now that I think about it, I suppose Looking for Alaska is a little anti-climactic as well

Hmm thanks for that swan. I'll prob read An Abundance of Katherines first, in that case. Yokailo: My friend bought Paper Towns online. He looked for it in shops and they said they could order it for him, but they didn't stock it. Hope that helps a little.

I actually bought Paper Towns 2 weeks ago and read it during my spring break last week. It took me about 4 days to read (mind you I didn't spend all day reading). I honestly think it is the best book I've ever read! When I was reading it, I was drawn into wanting to know what would happen next. When I started Part 3, I didn't want the book to end, so I would read a few pages and put it down for a while then read a few more pages, etc etc.

I have read that book! ...actually, John green is my favourite author... If you like this book, you might want to read his other books, an Abundance of Katherines and Looking for Alaska. In my opinion, Looking for Alaska was best. And Ben is just awesome.

I just did the book list for the TribeConnect project. There were lots of people who liked John Green, Paper Towns, and Looking for Alaska. Now it all fits...

I've read Paper Towns! I don't like it as much as Looking for Alaska...but the latter turned out to be one of my favorite books of all time, so it's hard to pass that up! With that said, Paper Towns is definitely an amazing book. I love it and will probably reread it a year from now (I like to give it time to fade away a bit). I don't regret that trip to the bookstore at all.
I can't wait to pick up An Abundance of Katherines =D
