Can we have a Skype chat about this sometime?!?! I feel like it might be more productive if we could instantly talk about our concerns rather than voicing them slowly here on the forum. Plus we can have some human moments. n.n
How does Tuesday the 22nd at 6pm EST work for you?
Feel free to add/chat with me anytime. Andromedavela

But guys, like I said before, achieving the Noble Cause does NOT spell the end of the Pogotribe. I really wish Dan would pop up on here and rephrase what he said in the Pogotok because it seems to be scaring a lot of people. We are not saying the tribe will end, but that there wont be a need for a tribe when Universal happiness has happened. I actually think thats a good thing instead of a problem. By it being somewhat vague it gives future generations the opportunity to make it their own, personalize it, and use their creativity to their advantage.

Ealier I thought of something; Does someone by any chance know what the Noble Cause of other tribes are? (like that one company that David Logan and Dan mentioned?)

Chaos that leaves too much out... I know, I sound like a broken radio, but "Universal happiness!" No, I don't. I just didn't think there was anything else to say. But I don't think that universal happiness is a good noble cause because it isn't really achievable.

I don't know what the noble cause of Zappos is, but Dan gave the example that the noble cause for a group of doctors might be to find a cure for cancer.

@ chaos:
Well in that case it really isn't that you have a problem with it, but that you don't think that it is achievable.
Now its all up to perspective, and not much we can discuss about it.
I believe Universal happiness can be done, and we should at least try before giving up on it.

I support universal happiness as our Nobel Cause, trying to make as many people happy as we can is always a good idea, even if we don't succeed.

Happiness about life is not a temporary thing, so not really... Happiness is an emotion, much like sadness. You go from happy to sad to excited to depressed. It's like a status. Also, interupting japanese carrot.

Interrupting japanese carrot who? ? So yay for the universal happiness. Maybe we should work on outlining some specifics though... like possibly ways to achieve our noble cause, how to determine when it is achieved.... guidelines for future generations really. ^ Quick example for what I'm talking about. If you think of America as a Tribe, its Noble Cause would be freedom and the specific guidelines would be the Constitution. (Kinda rough, but you get the idea.. right?) So maybe we could say our Noble Cause is universal happiness and a possible "bill of rights" would be our values or maybe the other causes the Tribe came up with. I dunno, just throwing some ideas out there. What do you guys think?

Happiness about life is not a temporary thing, so not really... Happiness is an emotion, much like sadness. You go from happy to sad to excited to depressed. It's like a status. Not necessarily, I think that, even thou emotion can last only seconds, emotions can also last much longer. Maybe because there is a superficial side of emotions and a deep one. Example: Person "A" recently went through a really awesome change in its life and it's really happy. Person "A" goes to school, there, A is annoyed by some friends and experiences a little bit of rage. Later A is informed by a teacher, of a really bad grade that A got on some important test, there, A experiences sadness. But it's all alright. After school the overall feeling of the day is happiness, because A is happy for some reason, A just is. No matter those little emotions that A felt during that day, the longer feeling, and the one that lasted and really mattered was happiness. I suppose that the noble cause "Universal Happiness" means to get to a world were the overall feeling is happines, not necessarily meaning that there wouldn't be sadness, for some people, from time to time. If you mean "Uiversal" like in "everybody, not just most of them", then I don't really think this could be achiebable, as real valuable happiness is a really personal thing. ... (keeping the "think impossibly big" value) Maybe something like "Universal Peacefulness", or "Create Universal Feeling of Good Intentions" (as in: get people to be somewhat empathic towards others, so no one would be a harmful person just because, or at least, get most of the people to be like that, so that, for example, acts like "bullying" are stopped from being encouraged.
