I must be the furthest left here... weird. Oh, no you're not! politicalcompass.org/facebook/pcgraphpng.php?ec=-7.50&soc=-5.08Left/Right: -7.50 (Left) Authoritarian/Libertarian: -5.08 (Libertarian) EDIT: When I embed the image it doesn't work for some reason EDIT #2:What can I say? I'm politically smart and a proponent of freedom, thus I support Libertarianism instead of communism Actually, you simply don't understand that with economical freedom for corporations, it is easier to promote corruption and monopolies, which in the end deeply damage personal freedom, promoting and deepening the class difference which already is strong, making the rich richer and the poor poorer. That is why we are all green. We promote personal freedom above corporational freedom, making sure everybody has at least enough money for a good life.

I'm on the right side, just above the middle line. I think I answered some question that I didn't understand wrong or something, because i think I should be in the purple, not blue.

These multiple choice tests can't get the nuances correct. I sometimes change my answer to fit what side I know I'd like to be aligned with simply because I have no room for a detailed explanation as to why. Allow for some examples:
"Our race has many superior qualities, compared with other races."
The human race? Sure is superior to sloths. But to answer the actual question, caucasian people tend get more vitamin D from sunlight. That's superior. African people are less susceptible to sunburn. That's also superior. It doesn't matter what ethnicity you are, your ethnic group probably has, on average, some traits which are superior to those of another ethnic group. Genetic inheritance does exist. Certainly you shouldn't judge every individual based on percentages, though hard data does give you a better grasp of reality. Still, though, "our" race and "other races" is asking you to identify people based primarily on race, which is unethical. So, I put "strongly disagree" because, while I don't deny the reality that people have genetic predispositions, I don't want to looped in with those who would unethically discriminate civil liberties. Civil rights, on the other hand, could be enhanced with this information. For instance, different genetic groups are susceptible to different medical problems and if a state has a public health care system, it would be in the best interest of everyone to use statistical data to find the most economically efficient ways of preventing disease.
Military action that defies international law is sometimes justified.
Depends on what the international law says, but I don't think the UN's list of human rights should ever be violated and it's impossible to look at this question without considering recent history, so I put "disagree" instead of "agree."
Abortion, when the woman's life is not threatened, should always be illegal.
I support the right of woman to abort an unwanted pregnancy, but I'm not terribly enthusiastic about it and I consider technology to be of relevance to this. For some background, I don't eat meat or kill mosquitoes, so when I say that I don't think the life of a human embryo or fetus is remotely comparable to that of a human being, I still personally don't feel particularly comfortable about abortion. That said, though, women should not be forced to carry an unwanted pregnancy, as it would be a terrible violation of human rights and subjugation of women, but, birth control is still improving (morning after pills, etc.) and with newer innovations abortion may only need be reduced to a necessity of very extenuating circumstances. I still put "strongly disagree," though, because of association with the issue.
All authority should be questioned.
Everything should be questioned, or else we would have no answers and believe completely idiotic things, like the spontaneous generation of pests, the sun revolving around the earth, or that dinosaurs and people coexisted 6000 years ago. The problem is that this question seems like it's leading into this raging lunatic conspiracy theorist level of thinking. Don't question empirical observations, because those are the very things you're trying obtain by questioning! People "question the authority" of academic institutions or government all the time and choose not to believe what all the evidence demonstrates, instead choosing to believe something which no credible evidence demonstrates, claiming that there's a conspiracy between all the credible institutions to hide the truth, a theory for which they obviously have no credible evidence for, since only institutions without any credibility can be trusted in their minds. So this is a huge conundrum. I think I put "agree," but you can see why I'd have a hard time answering this one.
Good parents sometimes have to spank their children.
If there were any empirical evidence that it actually worked, it might be justified. There's not, though. If the question was ECT (electroconvulsive therapy), a very effective treatment that's considered traumatic by some, then I'm pretty sure I'd say "Agree."
People with serious inheritable disabilities should not be allowed to reproduce.
When some diseases are found to have no genetic advantages (heterozygous advantage of sickle cell anemia is immunity to malaria, tay sachs allele increases intelligence, so not all diseases are 100% bad) and the genes can effectively be removed without stopping right to reproduction, then forced removal of certain genes from people could be mandated.
There are no savage and civilized peoples; there are only different cultures.
"The Noble Savage" is a myth. Hunter-gatherer societies have a much higher murder rate and that's objectively true. To excuse it as "ritualistic" and perpetuate this myth that society corrupts mankind is atrocious, but so is to defend the subjugation of tribal peoples. What was done to the native americans is wrong, no one should defend colonial violence against them nor fabricate history to try and reinforce wrongdoings.
Those who are able to work, and refuse the opportunity, should not expect society's support.
Seems like an easy "agree," but the question is loaded: assumptions that there actually are so many people who are "able to work" and "refuse the opportunity," furthermore, society supports you if you are a human being and probably supports you more if you're a naturalized citizen.
A significant advantage of a one-party state is that it avoids all the arguments that delay progress in a democratic political system.
Well, yes, that is an advantage of a one party state, but those arguments might be very important, so it may not be "good."
Making peace with the establishment is an important aspect of maturity.
As opposed to making war?
Astrology accurately explains many things.
Sure--It explains that some people are very naive and superstitious, easily duped and looking for simple lies rather than complex truths. If you check "Strongly Agree" on this, which direction does it move you in? The answer: away from my respect.
No one can feel naturally homosexual.
Again, this is just an objectively false answer. Answering "agree" to this doesn't move one away from liberal so much as it moves them towards total moron impervious to demonstrable fact.
So I ended up in the green zone, which is where I expected to be, but I still don't think this test is so accurate.

I think this shows rather accurately where I stand, although I believe I should be a little more to the right.

It looks like I'm with all the greens. I do believe that free/affordable health care and welfare is needed in dire situations, but at the same time, I disagree with tax money going towards things/people that should be able to support themselves... As for the social aspect, that's obvious...

Economic Left/Right: -6.50 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.18 I don't think that I'm that extreme left, but if the test is geared for Americans, then I guess it makes a bit more sense; the Canadian centre is further left than the American centre is.

The Canadian NDP is pure socialist by American central political standards. I think that you have the closest graph to mine here.

What can I say? I'm politically smart and a proponent of freedom, thus I support Libertarianism instead of communism I too am for freedom, however not for the corparations...That have hurt animal and plant life to much. That's why I'm leaning to the left.
