I'm really excited about this! It's going to be a very interesting social experiment type thing.

We gotta remember Dan is only a 20 year old guy. Just because we ask him to buy a school, or run for president, doesn't mean he can or will. he'll try

lucytie why would he 'choose not to do that'? he even put it in his dan 3.0 video, saying that it could be one of the possibilities.

@bojl I didn't say he 'choose not to do that'.
I said he /couldnt/, as in the law specifies he couldnt. In terms of US president i mean [obv]

Dan is turning himself into an android which is programmed by us. That's amazing.

First reaction: I wish Carter hadn't been a douche and intentionally ruined the surprise for me. Prick3tyPrick
Anyway, I don't know.. I like that he's trying to relate the soccer team to something new, but I don't feel like applying it to him is a good idea. The fans ran the soccer team, and now Dan's fans will be running his life. He says that he "doesn't use the f word," but this project is just going to increase fanboyism. It'll be an interesting experiment, but I don't think it's heading in the direction that he expects. Having 13-year-old fanboys tell you what to do is not going to show the world that collaborative decisions are the best way to run things.
I know everyone is going to get pissed at me for this, but this is just how I feel. I'm glad that Dan is trying to make a difference in the world, and I really want to support him. I'm just not convinced that this is as great as we were led to believe it would be.

The only way this can go wrong is if trolls come and tell him bad stuff to do. Luckily, pretty much no one will vote for those.

@bojl That is certainly possible. My only point is that we, as the people voting on what he does, have to aware of limitations. We can dream big, huge even, but we still have to dream somewhat practical. If we submit things that cant be done too much, we wont ever get to things that can be done.

Compare it to James Cameron's Avatar. Dan is now like our Avatar, controlled by us and capable of doing things most of us aren't capable of.

I am very excited for this project, and thats an understatment. After watching the documentry, and dan's presentation, I really wondered, what if people did have absolute power, there are so many things that could go wrong, and right, this is the first step into seeing if this kind of stuff could work.

Having 13-year-old fanboys tell you what to do is not going to show the world that collaborative decisions are the best way to run things. I like to think that people won't be that shallow and that we'll actually get him to do some really great stuff. And God, I must be Hitler.

lucytiescrew limitations but seriously. i would agree with what you said if you used the right definition of limitations (not saying you aren't). I would define limitations as things that are just physically impossible, and not just highly highly improbable. i mean, as highly highly highly highly improbable as it is, there IS a chance that dan could run for president. like if he bended all the rules and whatnot. it's improbable, but it's definitely possible. i don't think i really made sense. xD

Does anyone else think that if something like 'go die' was rated #1 that Dan /wouldnt/ do it? I mean, he has some sense...

I think this project is going to be a very interesting social experiment. However, I don't see how it's gonna work, but what do I know? We'll just have to wait and see.
