So, now that we have control over Dan's life (or will anyway), what should we do, watch the Dan 3.0 video again for ideas:

2 quickly thought of ideas:

"Learn basic philosophy if you haven't yet"
"Lobby the congress for philosophy classes in primary/elementary/high school education"

Instead of making Dan do, stupid fun things we would like him to do. I say we should go with some stuff penguinpalsrkewl. Maybe have him go back to school. I believe he may somewhat regret that he left. I also think we should have him propose to Danielle? Or are they already married?

Well, I think the going back to school idea should only be utilized once we get a better handle on what we want to accomplish in the long run with this year of total control over Dan's life. If we want him to do something related to politics, then we should probably have him go back to school. However, if we decide we want him to do something else not related to politics, then sending him back to school would only take time away that could otherwise be used to work toward that goal.

hm. he should become mayor of some community, but just a figure head. it'd be really awesome if all of us on the moon have him do what we want as a mayor. it'd be like our community, but with dan on the front lines. i kinda worded this weird, but you get the point xD

bojl, if we want him to become mayor of a community we would have to take into account when elections for mayor are in his area and all that sort of information, and now might not be the time for that. Lets talk about smaller things for now.

although I don't agree or disagree with the idea, something like this still could be done regardless of when it is. it just would give us time to prepare him for when the time does come around and we embrace the opportunity.

I see what you mean, i just didn't know if the rules of the project were he had to do it at the time we say it. and anything we say after the year becomes invalid. there isn't any specification of that yet.

My ideas while on Skype just off the top of my head:

For one day, dan will find as many things as possilbe about his local politians and both what they say and how they vote. He then will give a summary of his knowledge and what kind of job they are doing.

For one day, Dan has to go doing as little damage to the ecosystem as possible. For this day, he may not use electricity. If he goes someone he must walk and not drive. He may not use gas or electricity to heat or cool his home. He may not purchuse anything that is not quickly biodegretable (eg plastic but food is ok). He may not enjoy the use of electirity such as friend's home or store. He may not burn candles to release carbon. 1 day, completely ecofriendly.

For one day, Dan must by something small like Peeps. He will then hand them out in downtown Lincoln NE to anyone he can along with a slip of paper promoting shaun's Uncultured Project as well as a charity of his choice.

For one week dan will write a song a day. After the week is finished, he will (with the help of Hank Green if possible) make a CD with the best quality he can. He will then sell the CD through his youtube channel and give all proceedes to a non-profit organiztion of his choice.

For a month dan will spend 2 hours a day reading a book on religion. At the end of one month he will talk about what he has learned about the different religions and what he finds good and helpful about them. In other words, what wisdom of the past did people leave in written word that people should follow still to this day.

I really like ideas 3 and 4 (the ones involving Peeps and a CD). The others are good also, but 3 and 4 were my favorites. I think we should get him to do those things at some point.

But keep in mind he's also putting us in charge of his day-to-day activities, as well as serious long-term goals. So we could tell him to fly a kite one day or something simple like that.

I definitely do NOT think we should do anything like making him go back to school, making him propose to Danielle, making him drink a Coke, etc. Those are all terrible ideas in my opinion. The way I see this, Dan is putting a whole lot of trust in us, and we have a whole lot of opportunity. The LAST thing anyone should care about is Dan's personal life issues. Let him deal with those the way he wants! There are so many important and prominent things we could accomplish through Dan, s stop worrying about what he does when he fucking wakes up.

Forget about Dan for a second, and ask yourself what you would do if you could change anything in the world. Ask yourself what you would say if you had a voice that could be heard by millions. Once we answer these questions, we can figure out how to accomplish these things using Dan as our puppet of sorts.
