I dunno about Zak...But I was thinking something COMPLETELY universal. Correspondence schools have been around for a while, and now most of them have live help feeds with an instructor. Now imagine that, but one HUGE institution that covers pretty much any vocation in any language, short of Law and Med school. Now make it affordable for ANYONE who has the internet (and who's gov't doesn't block it). Enter: The next wave of post secondary education, and a new unified global & societal standard. (Well, just one more thing...Anyone got some spare change to fund all of this?) |

Well while Dan might be a zombie for a year. I have a thought that could change that... We and several million people around the world have control of a fairly influential youtube star... with that said could we not make his entire year be devoted to these projects that the pogo tribe have come up with.. basically we are in charge of showing Dan what he needs to do to make the world a better place...
yes Dan will get the short term goals of fun and humiliation, but if we choose his monthly goals right. we can sneak in what we where striving for all along...
of course then that means we would need to work on one goal at a time and push Dan to do what we want... also we would have to hope the rest of the world that isn't on the moon will go along... however it is possible that for one year we could have Dan do something truly amazing.
now do i think Dan made the perfect project... no not at all... but if he sticks to it like he promises then his commitment and our goals can possibly make a difference..
then again i am just some noob on a forum spouting off insanity to all who love and devote themselves to Dan and his tribe...

I don't want to say I was disappointed, but when I watched the video, I definitely cocked my head to the side and went, "Huh?"
I don't know if this is going to change the world or not, but I think it's going to do something.
We just don't know what that something is going to be.

The community is in complete control of how this project turns out. It will only fail if we let it fail. Since we have complete control in this project, if we want to make it a success, then we can make it a success. If we want it to be for entertainment, we can use it for that. If we want it to change the world, we can use it for that too! My thoughts exactly, well said. |

I think Dan's idea is not to be like a reality show, where we all go, "LOLZ, i can make dan weird his freinds out! :D" I think that his goal is this:
Dan Brown is a fairly influential YouTuber. He wants the community to use his influence to influence the world for the good. Not to use Dan 3.0 for entertainment, but for the community. While someone else can't say, "Let's form a charity for people affected by the BP oil spill," and expect it to happen, Dan has more voice to give to these issues. He has already built a large community on YouTube. He has an even more active PogoTribe behind him. And he has gotten the help of Revision3 to aid him and his Tribe to better the world.
So basically, I don't think he wants a reality show out of it. I don't think he's a zombie. I think he wants the amazing community around him to tell him how to change the world.

Hey, he's not a zombie. What if he hadn't said nothing about a secret project and instead just told us what it would be right now? We would be pretty excited, and think it was a good idea.
So, Dan 3.0 doesn't live up to hype, because the hype was huge. Of course it could have been groundbreaking and universal as you're saying, but at least it's good entertainment.
But hey, it could change the world!
