Hi guys!
So when Dan started this forum, a lot of us jumped on. Most of us jumped on to the moon for many reasons, but mainly for Dan 3.0 or Dan himself. But something happened, we liked each other.
No matter if you think that this forums just another fun forum, or a forum that's going to do something, you have to admit that we have bonded. I would personally say we are pretty much as close as people online can be. And we have a hell of a lot of fun doing.
In my case, I have matured insanely in my time here. I joined at the beginning, but got active in January. Then I was a huge Dan fanboy, and joined mostly because it was started by someone in my city. But as I got more and more active, I noticed something, that I started to care. Before joining the tribe, I was pretty much at the lowest point of my teenage life so far. I cared only about myself, and really a lot of my IRL friends were upset with me. I acted like the world owed me something, because I deserved it. But coming here made me change. I saw that there was something more important in life, and I realized that I was being an idiot. But it came at a price. I didn't realize this till about March. I hurt a couple people here on the moon. I wish I could take it back, but I did what I did. But something clicked, and my life flipped around. I could come here and give opinions that my IRL friends could never take. I could be 100% me, no putting on an act. And slowly it transferred to my real life.
If any of you remember the thread about single on valentines day on the old moon, I was debating if I should tell the girl I liked her on valentines day. I eventually didn't. But in June I met another girl, and I had the confidence to tell her that I liked her. Guess who's my girlfriend now? The tribe helped me, by giving me advice way back in February.
That's just one instance. There are many more. You guys have seen me mature greatly, and as I head into high school, I'm going to stick with the tribe, because I believe that it will help me greatly. I used to want to grow up and make money, and be famous. But being here has made me change my opinion on that completely. I now want to help the world as much as I can, and I don't care about worldly fame, because if I can help one person, then it makes me feel insanely good inside. 20 years from now I really think that I will see the Pogotribe as a huge part of my life, heck, I might still be here haha!
Now why am I saying this? Because I feel like the tribe is going through a hard but needed time. Getting all the SHIRT out of our system. But I saw click leave, and it made me sad. We will get through this, as long as our (awesome) admins are willing to lead us, and we stick together. Even if it turns out we don't change the world, we can still make great relationships here. I wanted to get across that we need to have faith, and I see great things for the future. Stick with it, and your reward will be great.
This tribe has literally changed my life. That's why I am going to stick with the tribe forever. I am going to do as much as I can to help the tribe. I believe that we can and will change the world. It takes time though. And we can still have fun, heck that's what makes me want to do it. Saving the world we be boring by yourself, so lets do it together!
I really love the tribe. I love you guys.
Let's stick together. Because together we can change each other, and quite possibly the world.
And how ever this ends, lets make it one hell of an ending!
Your friend, Joey(pjpinc123/picnic)

Hey, guys... try to respond to Joey's TEXT, not the fact that the video is linked or that people complain about it. Thanks!

I like your story, and I reckon that, while the SPOTM itself hasn't changed me much, being part of internet communities has.
I had a similar thing. I joined my first internet forum when I was 14. it was for Terry Pratchett fans. most of the friends I made there were old enough to me my parents (in fact, one of my closest friends on that forum has a daughter exactly the same age as me). I ended up meeting them IRL, and I was really active on that forum for about a year. There is something about the internet, about not having your real face on everything you say, about having to write down what you think instead of just saying it that brings your mind into focus. and when you're listening to someone talk, you can't hear it again, but when it's written down you can refer back again and again (but that as it's downsides too).
I think I had a point, but my brain is to tired. Maybe I'll have a point in the morning....

Dude this is what a Pogotribe Motivator is all about. Props man, and a nice story. The internet never ceases to amaze... I think we could all say something that community online has done for us. Honestly I would really miss not having the online friends I do. In real life I'm a quiet person who talks about stuff that no one understands or really cares about. It's not that I don't have friends we just have nothing in common... XD I'm glad I have some place to be a nerd. That's why I'm here, here to help, here to have fun, and here to talk and be nerdy!
