If you've taken an official IQ test of any kind, and know definitively your IQ, then participate in this poll after reading this.
NOTE: IQ is only one measure of intelligence, and someone with a higher IQ than someone else is by NO means necessarily more intelligent or better of a person than another. This is more meant as a fun tally than as a perfectly accurate measure of the intelligence of the moon.
My IQ is 142 +- 5, as I've tested anywhere from 137 to 147, but generally at/around 142. If you have also tested with varying results, vote on an average score, not just the best score you've received.
For reference, the cognitive level of each score range will be listed below, but do not read these beforehand.

40 - 54 Severely challenged (Less than 1%) 55 - 69 Challenged (2.3%) 70 - 84 Below average (12.7%) 85 - 114 Average (68%) 115 - 129 Above average (12.7%) 130 - 144 Gifted (2.3%) 145 - 159 Genius (Less than 1%) 160 - 175 Extraordinary genius (Far less than 1%)
Ever feel like you're surrounded by retards at every waking moment? I'm not a genius by any stretch of the imagination (I average at 126), but I struggle with my everyday life just because dumb people stress me out. The only person in my family who can outwit me is my father. He shows me the light when I can't figure something out, and he will usually win an argument with me.
Intelligence is a gift, but it can be a curse as well.
IQ =/= Intelligence. It just shows your capability to think out logical questions quickly. Which is one of the factors that determine your intelligence. Just wanted to throw that out there, I'm interested to see the outcome of this
Here is the problem I have with IQ. If the population is broken up evenly, and 100 is the center then how come every person/group of people I ask are about 100. Look even at the results on this forum. Can someone explain that to me?
LOL@already FOUR people thinking they're "gifted."
I'm not sure what IQ tests you guys have been taking, but you're being lied too. The percentage of people who are actually in the gifted IQ range (or above) is so incredibly small, and it's beyond laughable that 4/7 people on an Internet forum (that mostly consists of people still in high school or early years of college) in the middle of the night who voted on this poll are actually that smart.
If you're getting your results from any free website or what have you (or basically any site or system that benefits from you taking the test in some way), it's probably wrong. I've seen a lot of tests that tell you your IQ at the end, but ask you to pay to find out more information/get more details. Uh, it's definitely in their best interest to inflate that IQ score... you think you're a genius? "Heck yes you want more details!" You think you're a dumbass? "Screw this test."
Something like 95% of the population has a score between 70 and 130*-- the odds that you fall in that 5% are incredibly unlikely. Don't be fooled.

Let us not make this post look very long, just read Bree's post.
The test I base this on is the test I took when I ended up primary school o.O That is an official test. After that, I've had to take another test at my high school because they didn't believe me, and I scored in that region again Then again, I don't think it's 'gifted', though.
A 5-year-old can be in the "genius" category, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're smarter than an "average" 21-year-old.
The official formula for calculating IQ is:
Mental Age / Chronological age x 100
The test you take determines your "mental age."
So yeah, an IQ test you took in primary school (I've no idea what that means in other countries, but here it is quite young) would be irrelevant now. And if you last took one during your first year of high school, and are now in college, that could also be irrelevant. :/
I honestly don't think that an IQ test I took two years ago would be irrelevant now =/
Of course you have a point, your IQ does change over the years, but that doesn't mean that someone with a score of 144 back then will now have an average score of about 100. That just doesn't happen. EDIT: Unless something drastic happens, of course - an accident of some sort.
I just took an IQ test, I got the score of 135, but that was in the age group of 18-34 (they didn't have any lower), and I'm 15, so my real IQ might be slightly higher/lower.
And by the way, yes, it was a "real" IQ test (from Mensa's norwegian website)
An official IQ test is only valid up until the age of 8 and must be done in person. The test takes a few hours and consists of many parts. Anyone who is attempting to take an online test, please know that you are not taking anything resembling an actual IQ test.
Oh, and the poll is insufficient...ty

And IQ I think is a really stupid thing. Everyone is smart in some way. We need to stop testing people to see if they are school smart. I consider my self smart in school wise, but an idiot when it comes to cars. My best friend is "Low level" in school, but he could take apart a car and put it back together better.(Not a joke, its fricking insane, and hes 15)
