I don't pirate games anymore. I prefer to have them on Steam for whatever reason. But I do pirate music.

My whole music collection on my computer = pirated. We buy albums once, or borrow them from friends, then we rip 'em and put the on our media server.

I pirate everything... I must have thousands of £'s worth of software on here. Hours of music... a few films... a page of i-apps.
Some software like Adobe CS5 collection I could never afford so I have no choice. Some stuff I could afford but would rather save money for physical things Some stuff is so cheap I would probably throw that away in small change I download and pirate.
Truth is, I don't like paying for something that isn't physical. Why should I pay £8 for a CD that cost pence to produce and has had a mark up of about £7.95? When I can get the full album (most of the time in better quality) for free?
And downloading it is so much easier! If I want a CD I would have to get up, go to a supermarket, buy the CD, come back, import CD sync to ipod.
OR
Download to Ipod...
I pirate all the time and I don't care, its make me much better with software I would otherwise never use (like Adobe CS5, RPG Maker, Vegas Pro 10, Wirecast... the list goes on.

I can understand pirating super expensive products, but pirating EVERYTHING is just being (and sorry for the word) a dick. Even if something isn't physical, it doesn't mean it has no value. Someone worked on it, and they expect something in return for their effort. Would you like making a CD and getting no profit from it? Would you like developing an app and publishing it and selling just one copy because everyone is pirating it? You're just being a cynical prick.

I wouldn't publish an app that cost money, at the end of the day I can slap ad's on there and get money from it that way. If the app is good more money for me as more people download it.
