is Dan 3.0 not really turning out how you expected? I'm not to sure WHAT I was expecting.. but it doesn't seem that amazing and different from what we were doing before (suggesting things that he could do). What were you expecting and what you think of the turn out so far?

Dan isn't giving us control over his life, he's going about doing whatever he wants, we suggest things for him, and if he doesn't like it he doesn't have to do it, and the only punishment is "disappointment" so pretty much if he ever is bored he has a giant list of things to do... that's about it...

There needs to be a way to clear all ideas after a week or a month so new ideas can rise to the top. Other wise, the ones that are at the top will be there forever and he will just ignore them. This is not at all what I expected, however, I will hold off being 'harsh' for a while seeing as how it's only day three. revision3.com/dan30/task/end-of-the-week-month-clean-up

My surprise is actually Rev3 handling this so poorly. They didn't expect a spike of visits, so they have trouble uploading videos.

So the people are Revision3 are basically saying "We didn't expect people to actually watch a program we're doing!" and are being ridiculous. You would think they would have anticipated a guy with a large fanbase, having coverage like he has, would cause a large spike. This is, regardless of how it turns out, a big deal. And Rev3 apparently didn't think of it as that.

But you have to remember, he had about 6 months of preparation, this is a pretty big disappointment. I do hope that he gets things working well soon, but after 6 months, you expect more.

It seems like a good portion of the issues that exist aren't really stemming from Dan himself, or things of that sort, but more with Rev3 and their general nonsense.

This was of course before I saw the latest episode. This uploading thing was no one's fault. Well, I mean it is something Rev3 had said in a forum discussion. On 8/4 - "FYI Unfortunately we're having some server issues here at Revision3 HQ that impact episode encoding - which means that episode releases today ( Dan 3.0 and Geek Beat.TV) and releases scheduled for tomorrow will be delayed. " And according to NewTeeVee - "Dan 3.0‘s Launch Doubles Revision3 Site Traffic" So obviously, Rev3 didn't see this coming, but I think that Revision3 is sorry for their mistake, and hopefully will be getting more servers to deal with the impact. I'm still sorry Danielle, "Rev3 handling it poorly" was the wrong choice of words, it should have been "Rev3 having a few server issues, and internet problems for the first few days, but it will smooth out over the next week." Sorry! Danielle, your awesome, and I don't want you mad at anyone! -SwimFellow

its only the beginning guys, its gonna be a slow start. just wait til around thanksgiving or xmas i think it will really start rolling. my only disapointmen tis the videos are only 5 mins, id rather them be longer like 15-30 than it really feels like were making him do stuff or even live stream some of the stuff. !!!!!!!!idea suggestion time!!!!!
also if anyone wants to help me with my ideas one being a first ever youtube xmas variety hour(or less) for an xmas charity. is there a specail thread to post dan 3.0 ideas to get people to help vote???

Part of the problem is that the ideas being submitted are too... boring. They aren't incorporating the audience, and they're not all that interesting. I submitted an idea that is not only interesting and very simple to do, but it would also include the fanbase. This idea is also something that has never been done on a level as big as this, and could win him some recognition. If you want to see more action on Dan 3.0, and actually get this thing rolling the way it should, check out the thread here.

Dan has been saying that this project will be completely unpredictable for the last week. I can't wait until he starts doing big stuff and really starts getting into the project. For now however, the show's a little mild. I think he needs to do more tasks.

But you have to remember, he had about 6 months of preparation, this is a pretty big disappointment. I do hope that he gets things working well soon, but after 6 months, you expect more. well, HE prepared for six months, and as much as i agree that it wasn't the best start, i also think that the TRIBE needs to put more effort into dan 3.0, because dan not doing tasks everyday, is not as much his fault, as it is that not many small/daily tasks have risen to the top. I think that its just the weariness of the TRIBE that gave a slow start to dan 3.0. although sending him to Montana to record with hank green was an excellent first weekly task

I agree with this thread. 6 months of preparation and now (I have to say this) but Dan is "All-talk"
He has only done 2-3 tasks and we are 10 days into the project!
This was a terrible idea from the beginning. I wasn't in support of this from when Dan announced it in the admin forums

This was a terrible idea from the beginning. I wasn't in support of this from when Dan announced it in the admin forums I don't think Dan's the problem. He may need a couple weeks to get into it and realize what he's gotten into. But people need to propose some better tasks. The meaningless stuff can be done by anyone. I think Dan was expecting us to accomplish some BIG STUFF, nd get the community to coordinate it nd everything -- a way to demonstrate the power of the internet... y'know? I say give Dan time, then he'll deliver!

I think this video is surprisingly relevant to Dan 3.0.
