"Is this forum going anywhere?"
I mean seriously, I know I've been busy and haven't been on a whole lot since I got back, but to be quite honest I'm starting to wonder where all the motivation went. You people wanted to start the worlds best convention, wanted to get things going, but so far all i'm seeing is talk about movies, games, and art. What have we done in the 'REAL' world?
Sure we got the app going, but all that really accomplished is help people do more of the above. We have a store... with NOTHING in it. We tried to get to know one another, and did, but more people keep showing up so that right there is kind of a dead end. We should get to know eachother when we start to work together. Thats how it works. When I joined the tribe I made a commitment to start helping my community. And this year in school i've taken a building trades class. We're actually building a HOUSE. For people to LIVE in! And I'm part of the team that's getting it done.
I know that most of the long-term members will agree on me with this, and maybe it should be us who takes up the role of leadership. Unless we take action no action will take place.
So tell me tribe, what HAVE we accomplished?

Well for one, you're building a house. Isn't that something? Does that not count because it's only you doing it? You said when you joined the tribe you made the commitment to start helping your community. So have tons of other people who joined this tribe. The tribe changes peoples perspectives on life, to help them do good. You're thinking too much in terms of what this tribe has done together. (Although we have done some awesome things together). What about what we're doing individually? We're just dudes who want to change the world, and this forum acts as our place to hang out... it doesn't have to be our place to actually plan our world changing actions. That just happens to be one of the functions of this forum, other than to chat bullshit with each other.

Cameron said it well! As did you. The Tribe has focused the attention of its members on changing the world. Just because we're not changing the world together doesn't mean it's a complete failure. Yeah, we are just talking about movies, and games, and art... but now we're all thinking about changing the world. And that's where action starts. With thoughts. With ideas.

The problem is everybody expects miracles, and stuff to happen immediately. People these days have no patience.
All I'm saying is you have to start doing stuff YOURSELF. Making projects, giving ideas. Not just standing there and complaining "This isn't going anywhere"
And no, I'm not necessarily talking to just mashuga.

I'm a new member and I agree with Camoon - individual acts count, and this forum has inspired people to do good stuff in the world

Every good thing takes time, lots of people who join here have this idea; they join, "What worldchanging thing are you doing here?" "Well.. we started doing.. and we got this idea.." "mehh.. lame.."/""ow so you haven't got anything out there?" they leave/take a break from the forums.. BTW for those who want things worldchanging, define worldchanging.. (we got ourself a whole community here who talks to, discusses, debates and share their lifes/experiences with each other.. Even these small things change who YOU are and helps forming your opinion on things.. All these small things change who we are and therefor alse change the world ) [*it made a lot more sense in my head..*]

Yeah, I'm too lazy to read the replies. >_>
Anyways, I think we are coming along just fine. Sure I wasn't a member of this forum since the same time as you, but I've definitely seen some development since I've been here.
Odds are that we will never be mentioned on the news. We will probably never be personally thanked by the President (though that is subject to change), and we will probably own our own chapter in students' history books, but that doesn't mean we aren't doing our part.
Give [it] time. Big things take a lot of time, and with great power comes (finish Spiderman quote here).

We are brainstormers. We brainstormers come up with ideas that will change he world. We have some great ideas here, we just need to find a way to put them into action.

I disagree with all that bullshit everyone is saying about things taking time. I agree with Mashuga.
Reason being is, that it may take time to accomplish changing the world and etc., what cannot change and is vital for all that is determination, and that strive for success. As far as I know, there is none of that anymore, there is no determination, you exclude any high goals as unrealistic and unreachable, you lose all hope in ideas that haven't even began, simply because of that stupid idea that small gets you somewhere.
Most of us, if not all, spend time on SPOTM playing games, or debating, nothing more.

We do need to force it, but also let it happen in its own time
