...I'm saying because Bree said to vote for you. You have a lot of respect. I'm saying you're pretty much already a mod, so there are 2 more spots left.

I REALLY appreciate the support, but a big part of me thinks that early on (when the bulk of the voting happened) people's opinions may have differed. Let's face it, I've really only said anything relevant as of the last 4 days as opposed to when campaigning started. KITTENS! It's like Bree said, it can really go either way regardless of what the main consensus seems to be...

People can still retract their votes.

Well regardless of points of view, we'll know by tomorrow. Nothing is certain, but so long as people vote based on which nominees interests best suit SPOTM rather than doing the whole popularity contest thing - The moon will be in awesome shape. (Although I can't say I've seen much of a social popularity contest happening much...Thank goodness!)

The problem with that is... not everyone who voted is truly active on SPOTM or took the time to read the thread and consider it seriously.
So yeah.

That is going to happen in any election, no matter how much the organizers of said election do to try to avoid making it a popularity contest. Just as there will usually be someone who does their research on the candidates to make an informed vote, there will usually be someone who votes based on looks or personality. *shrug* Aaaw thanks Bree, you flatter me ;D Thanks for the support guys, you rock! @lyserg Zeroz - One of the biggest parts of being a Mod is being there for the members to help out wherever possible, but ESPECIALLY with the new members who are just feeling out the forum and trying to get a vibe. So there's definitely the whole 'welcoming commity' aspect of things, for sure. But also with more senior members, obviously. I don't think a lot of people realize just how much work goes into organizing and coordinating things that happen on the moon, even if they seem small. This democratic process is a perfect example. But also, there's maintaining order. I don't see that as playing 'janitor' because I do this all the time on client's sites and forums - And shutting down trolls is really the smallest part of that job. When an issue arises, it's often addressed in PM's. This requires a good compromise of diplomacy but at the same time authority. Same goes for when a member presents you with an issue via PM's. A good chunk of forum administration and governance pertaining to member interaction happens behind the curtains, and often this involves addressing two parties on different sides of one issue at the same time. And if you think you're just a 'janitor', then you WILL fail miserably at this aspect of the job. Finally, a Mod IS a representative of SPOTM, just like an Administrator, AND a regular member. It's not a state of being of a higher status, it's a job to make things jive FOR everyone else. The Admins here are GREAT at being humble in this respect, and I think that's a big part of why things flow so well around here. And no lesser of that quality should be expected in a SPOTM Mod. *Whew* - There's my thoughts! I could not have put it better myself. Kudos, Newschooled. =)

I like that this thread is being utilized well now. I will not interject with my opinion on any of the current discussions. I simply wish to remind the candidates that if they want a last-minute video on thepogotribe YouTube channel, send me a PM for the password.
