Colour (or color - spelling doesn't matter in this case). A common word, no?
Is it just me, or does it look like it's spelled horribly wrong?
Another word that looks like it's spelled wrong - through
louse spinach colonal knife
I know WHY these words are all messed up, and not spelled the way they sound - English has some messed up origins and rules - there's a reason why it's the hardest language to learn to write
Grah, I'm just ranting, really.

Really? English? Wasn't it like finnish or something different? ... I don't remember. I don't even tink one can objectively say that "[insert language here] is the most difficult language in the world", I mean, there are many not so well known languages out there =/... mmh. Anyways, yeah there are some words that seem horribly wrong when I write them =O, I don't remember right now, but I know it has happened to me.

Finnish is one of the hardest languages to learn to SPEAK, but English, because of all it's contradictions, rules, and weird ways of spelling things, is the hardest to learn to WRITE.

color > color, coloris (LATIN for color) colonal > colonia (LATIN for colony) When you know some Latin, you'll see that English isn't that different ps. Some people said that Dutch is also a language that is very hard to learn.; but I dunno..

O and I forgot to mention that a lot of English words have a Dutch origin ;D (*has recently learned this in Dutch class*)

Well, I knew about the Latin origins - but not everybody knows Latin. I know it because it's a requirement for my degree.

Color or colour looks fine to me. Necessary is a jerk, though. JUST MAKE IT NESESARY!

oh okay XD ^ I used to have spellingtrouble with the word 'awkward' A word I find spelled wrong: gaol (=jail, prison) "Gaol" seems technically incorrect, because, as I understand it, an "E" after a "G" makes the "G" soft (as in, it acts like a "J")

Finnish is one of the hardest languages to learn to SPEAK, but English, because of all it's contradictions, rules, and weird ways of spelling things, is the hardest to learn to WRITE. English is much easier then Polish. Polish has so many rules that are just there for hell of it, but one still has to fallow them.

Spanish is really easy on the pronunciation, but its grammar is a BITCH. Really. As a native speaker I often find myself making weird mistakes. (like "imprimido" instead of "impreso" or "rompido" instead of "roto".) Let's all learn Japanese! (nevermind. THERE'S A LOT OF KANJIS! )

And Kanji is only the tip of the iceberg - there's also hiragana and katakana - which is, in theory, what they actually write with
