If people took better precautions there wouldn't be many oil spills. If we enhance the technology , there should be no spillage.
But first we need to enhance the technology that cleans up the spills.

If you're gonna invest the time and money in increasing efficiency and technology FOR oil, why not just increase efficiency and technology for SOME OTHER SOURCE. Perhaps a sustainable one. While we may have lots of oil off shore and in Alaska, eventually it will run out - we k now that. If you propose spending the money and time to better our oil technology, why not just spend that same money and time to look at a different source that won't run out - or at least wont run out nearly as fast.

Because oil companies are the ones with the money and they aren't going to put it towards a source that will put them out of business.

I believe that use and dependence of fossil fuels on this planet is despicable...
The price of what tears the natural environment to shreds has a strangle-hold on the people who are unfortunate enough to be sucked into this horrible need to inject of engines with such a stupid fluid...
Hybrids and Volt-cars are amazing, and price does not matter when it comes to the well-being of life as we know it on Earth.
WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO WALKING/RIDING PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TO CLOSE DESTINATION?1!? DOES THE BICYCLE NOT EXIST?!?
EDIT:Many more jobs can be provided by clean energy and clean energy research than any jobs that can created via Oil...

Alex, if you have a lot of money - and you could capitalize that money on newer energy - then when people decide to switch from oil to newer energy, you'll make even more money. It's stupid of the oil companies NOT to invest in cleaner technology, they could make trillions of dollars on it.

I'm not supporting this, I'm just stating it. It's what they should do, but they aren't. I would really love to see Solar roads or Wind powered electric plants.

WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO WALKING/RIDING PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TO CLOSE DESTINATION?1!? DOES THE BICYCLE NOT EXIST?!? My daily commute to work is about 25 miles each way. (In a different town.) Taking the bus that far is $12 PER DAY and even if I was a super-athlete and didn't mind a 2 hour bike ride down the highway twice a day, it gets down to -40 during the winter here. Some of us actually are dependent on our vehicles if you can believe it. Edit: Other than that, I would love nothing more than to be able to take my longboard anywhere close, but with 2 young kids to haul around, it's just not feasible. (And my closest bus stop is over 2 miles away.)

Teleportation would most likely use a lot more fuel than the average vehicle if it could exist.

Teleportation would most likely use a lot more fuel than the average vehicle if it could exist. It would run on coal.

Or maybe it would run on unicorn tears.
It would be incredibly dangerous if we tried it.

I would say a gas operated car, for if I were to get into an accident I imagine it would cost a lot more to repair a hybrid than a normal car (I'm just guessing).
