Designers can work here
EDIT BY UNFAIRBEAR: Team Leader should keep a list of members of this team and send them to the management team to keep the list in this post.
Anyone can join the team, even if you're on another team. The Team Leader is whoever takes charge of the Team. (Probaby Rob/Newschooled) Make sure you're dedicated though!
EDIT BY NEWSCHOOLED: Unofficial deadline for idea submissions is Friday, April 8 TBA. We'll use ALL submitted designs!

*runs in circles maniacally* I'll try my best to pump out a few poster concepts tonight, as long as I can find the time. How are these posters actually used - Like for download as desktop backgrounds or as header banners? I guess all I really need is a range of dimensions in pixels. I'll also make a set of regular banner ads to plaster the interwebs with, similar to this: I'll host them on my site (derpnation.com) so you can just copy the image link and rest assured that it won't change on you.

They are to be printed on paper and hung up in places around your neighborhood.

Awesome sauce. I'll format 2 sizes for each design - Postcard size and Tabloid (11"x17") and then I'll provide an FTP site where you can download the graphic files in any format you could possibly need. Then anyone can take the link or downloaded files to any place like Staples or Kinkos and have excellent quality prints made for dirt cheap.
This is gonna be AWESOME!!!!!!

Also it would be awesome if you can make the templates available seeing as the QR code will be different for each user.

I think for that, the easiest thing would be to leave a blank square somewhere on each one for people to put in their own code - I work with adobe Illustrator and will have these posters set up as vector files, but some people are more savvy in other programs like photoshop or correl draw. I think it would make it a little more universal for individual edits if all possible file formats are made available in their editable forms.
OR - People could send me their QR codes and I could send them back to personalized file, but that could get a little tricky if I'm too busy to be on the ball any given day.

I know this is more technical related, but wouldn't it be possible to make it so the server automatically makes a QR code and then merges the image with it on the time of creation (also including a custom text link which is readable), thus making it possible to have the images avaialble for download with no problem whatsoever.

I don't remotely understand how these codes work or what they're for - So just let me know what I need to do, graphically speaking. The formats I'm going to be providing are .eps .ai .pdf(vectorized) and a full res jpeg@350dpi. (Both CS files would be CS2 because that still seems to be the lowest baseline industry statndard.) Would option 1 from my last post still be ok?

So um.. who's going to print the posters?

I think the idea is that every individual who wants to will download them and have them printed on their own accord.
So because not everyone has a huge budget, that's why I'm going to provide postcard size and black and white versions of each design as well. This way, anyone can go to Staples or Kinkos with only a few bucks in their pocket and have something printed up.
EDIT: There will also be a letter size version for printing off at home.

...That in mind, I think it would be cool to offer a reward incentive. I'm thinking once the posters are done and people have had a chance to print them and plaster them all over their neighborhoods, you will be awarded a point for each picture you post here of your poster hanging in public somewhere. Then you can redeem your points for a prize.
I'm thinking maybe SPOTM vinyl stickers? (Which I could provide and mail out)

TRIPLE POST!!! Okay, here's another concept I hammered out when I had a free moment at work. For everyone else who would like to submit some designs, let's aim for this Friday, April 8th as the deadline, so we can make this happen IRL.
