Ok well I have had this story idea for like half a year now and I just am not sure how to start it. Well it is basically going to be about this world and an apocalypse is starting. Well that is at least what I'm thinking. Well I'm not sure if I should have it set in First person point of view or Third person. If I do write this it will probably be a series. I'm not sure of what to include. For instance if I were to write a book like this what would be some of the problems that would occur. Would politics have a role in this, or would that just be minor? Would there be a safe place in the world? Well I think I've made this clear so yeah does anyone have experience with literature and could help me out.

if youre creating a series out of it make the first book as detailed as possible...or as broad as possible so you can include elements from the original plotline later. you dont want to have to waste pages explaining and filling plot holes.
first person is a bitch for detail...most people find third person past easiest.

Politics would be a cool thing to integrate. What about dealing with rising commodity prices, limited communictaion with other parts of the world and the desrtuction of importnat infrastructure. Just a few suggestions, I hope your writing goes well!

I think this depends on you. At least a little politics would be good to integrate, if just so to make more plausible. A safe place can be a big deal and a very important thing on an apocalypse scenario... or not, as I said, it depends on you.
About the narration style: It also depends on what you want. As Asher said, with 3th person (omniscient) it becomes easier to give lots of details. But it all depends on how you want to present your story. If, for example, you want to show the perspective of your protagonist(s) and want the reader to see the world through his/her eyes, you can use 1st person, this also makes it eaiser (at least I think it does) to show the personality of the character and for people to relate with and even understand the character.
And what do you mean with the problems that would ocurr? Do you mean in the story, or in the process of writing the story?
