I've been thinking about this a lot, and the main reason I've been so hesitant to dismiss people that do bad things is because I think, "If I'm so understand of behavior that is clearly wrong, people will think there's something wrong with me, and I'll be judged for being understanding." But if you think about it, there really is a reason that people do bad things. And there's no way for a person to be entirely bad. Today in my psych class, my teacher was telling us about something she saw on TV about people that have sexually abused children.. and most of the abusers had been abused themselves. It doesn't excuse their actions, but it shows that there's a deeper problem causing it. And most people overlook people's motivation for doing bad things, and just look at the bad things themselves and judge people based on that. This TEDTalk kind of relates to the first thing I said, so if anyone wants to check it out, I think it's a good thing to think about: www.youtube.com/watch?v=V74AxCqOTvg&playnext_from=TL&videos=oWxvUWjH2Xk

Yes, every action has a motive, but we will never fully understand someone else's motives. Even if they were to explain them fully, there is still the issue that people think in different ways, and as such, it is impossible to make a correct judgment on someone else. As such, you cannot say that someone is evil. Here's something to think about: If we were able to accurately judge people, there would be no need to judge people.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVYvVVWBcuQ < political science lecture on Pacifism which touches on why we should never hate anyone and how much damage it does to our own community if we do. www.youtube.com/watch?v=31HUk_58Y8M& < another video on the same series which talks more about loving your greatest enemy, it's impossible to love mankind until you can do that. Basically Non violence + violence = violence the only way to stop any violence from creeping into our minds our actions and our society is to never hate the opponent. I had a series of dreams (every morning i would wake up and try to come to terms with the fact that it was only a dream, only to find that the following night it would pick up exactly where it left off) that I was pregnant with the Antichrist. It was some kind of rip off of that film The Omen. I had him and a few other children and he grew up and left, was an adult and a child at the same time. We had to go on the run because he was trying to kill us. I just loved him so much, just as much as the rest of them. And I had this deep understanding in me that what he was doing was dividing the whole world with hate. He was getting into politics and half the world was supporting him and the other half realized he was evil and were rallying to stop him. I tried to get to them, I tried to tell them that they must fight hate with love, that that was the only way. But in the end I was shot and the dreams stopped. Still in my head I have tried to keep that message: "Fight hate with love." I'm not sure if you guys in America heard much about James Bulger, he was a little boy in England who was kidnapped, sexually abused, and murdered by two other little boys. One of those boys seems to have just been a follower, the other one experienced every single one of the things he did himself, the kicking and punching as well as the sexual abuse. He was something like 10 years old and thousands of people united in hate against him and wanted him tried as an adult. He was released a while back and recently was arrested again, no one knows why because it was a secret name. The press have decided to tell everyone it was child pornography but they have no idea what it was. Anyway I feel so sad for him, he never knew any love or kindness, I feel just as sorry for him as for James. They were both little boys who went through something terrifying and it's horrible to think about. If James had survived and grown up to be abusive the press would have called for his head as well, no one has sympathy for adults because they have responsibility for their own actions and choices, and while that's true I know that the choice to be good and kind is really easy for me because I have seen so many examples of it in my life. What choice do some people have? Of course this doesn't mean we should let a criminal free to spread the horrible pain that he has felt himself, but there has to be some kind of safe and kind place he can live and experience a normal and comfortable life.

I'm new 2 SPOTM! how does this level system work? Watch these videos for an explanation of the tribe levels, which is the basic idea of the Pogotribe: Dan's We're a tribe video (short explanation): " David Logan on tribal leadership" (long explanation): Oh, and by the way, please do not post in a thread that has been inactive for months; rather just look through or create a new thread in for instance the " Halp pls" forum.

Perhaps the purpose is not to ignore terrible transgressions of people, but to find the good in them. While it may seem like there is "evil" in the world, I will bet you that every single person on this planet has at least one good trait or behavior inside them. They might not show it on the outside, but it's there. I could just be too optimistic for my own good, though. I disagree. You could say one of Hitler's good traits is how intelligence he is, but didn't he use said traits for evil?

Hitler wasn't very intelligent actually. I'm not quite sure where you got that from. Hitlers good traits was communication, and in a sense manipulation. Hitler knew very well how to speak, he was an outstanding speaker. The strength in his speeches truly showed his leadership and that is why he gathered such support during the times of the Weimar Republic. He is the one who decided to go to Kiev instead of attacking Moscow first handedly, simply because he was lead by emotion, not logic or intelligence. NEXT.
