Hello there! My name is Andrea, and I'm a 21 (soon to be 22, this upcoming 15th) year old girl from Florida.
I probably fall under the "artsy" category. With the exception of the musical side, I've probably tackled almost every side of art. I draw, I do graphic design, I've coded websites, and I did theater in high school. I even used to write back in the day -- I was one of the pioneers of the wave of text "roleplay"/RP that went on at the Harry Potter forums around the release of the first movie. If you were around during that ancient era of the internet, and you remember seeing walls and walls of perfectly-spelled and meticulously-crafted literary RP goodness around Gryffindor... it was probably my little group of friends and me there.
So, what does Miss Artsy here want to do for a living in the future? Well, my dream job would be to work at Pixar. If I could ever say I helped make something like Finding Nemo or Toy Story, my life would be complete.
As far as fandoms go, my two biggest ones that I'm know for are Harry Potter and Sailormoon (I've seen the entire anime in four different languages, I kid you not.) I love horror movies, with the Freddy Krueger series being my favorite. Video games are another thing I enjoy, with Soul Calibur and Resident Evil being my two favorite franchises. I also enjoy reading about medicine, psychology, and astronomy. Math is my mortal enemy.
My history with YouTube is funny. For the longest time, I wasn't aware of the huge creative community surrounding it (I just watched music videos and random funny videos, not exactly following any vloggers or serious content creators.) It wasn't until early this year, when a friend pointed me in the direction of Dan's videos, that I found out about it all. Things escalated from there -- I watched all of his videos (both Pogobat and DBU) in like a week. Then, I proceeded to do the same with everyone else -- Meekakitty, Nanalew, StrummingSally, Catrific, etc, etc..
Needless to say, my mind's been blown. And I have decided that I wanna join in on it. Not gonna lie, I just spent the entire day setting up accounts everywhere and getting ready to become a social/new media junkie. I'm gonna start working on videos soon, and see how this turns out for me.
And now here I am, joining SPOTM! Sorry for the rambling (old RP habits die hard, apparently.) Nice meeting you all!
