I played for like 4 hours making an adventure map and didn't encounter any wolves. Do they spawn on peaceful?

They do spawn on peaceful, however, they only spawn in taiga and forest biomes.

Also it's much more rare for them to spawn on a world generated in 1.3 or lower (basically pre 1.4)
Also YOU'RE MAKING AN ADVENTURE MAP WHAT KIND AND IS IS FOR SMP CAUSE WE COULD PLAY THROUGH IT
