There's no reason for vegetarians to be any less healthy looking than a meat-eater. The only conclusion you can draw from an emaciated looking vegetarian is that they aren't eating enough.
What the crap. If you take the most sever case for any person who chooses a more unconventional way of life you're bound to end up with all kinds of crazies. I bet there is some family who force fed their baby big hunks of cow too early, resulting in the baby's death. Incidents like the one you and I described are morally wrong. but vegans definitely aren't 'morally wrong'.
Oh yeah, I'm vegetarian. My family hardly eats meat anyway, maybe 3 times a week.

As human beings, we are built to be omnivores. It is actually far healthier to eat meat along with vegetables. You just need to have temperance. Our body has 12 essential amino acids that are QUITE difficult to obtain every day only eating vegetable, so really it is more likely that vegetarians are less healthy. All of the perks that you can find for being a vegetarian are the same if you eat meat as well. Hence, temperance.
On the issue of morality, there is no reason to think of ourselves any different than any other animal. We have what appear to be more advanced brains and intelligence, but we use it for the same things as any other animal. It's just a tool. We make shelter, we have jobs that support the "colony" or society as we call it. There is no reason we should behave differently from other omnivores in regard of food. Of course, this is my opinion, as it's not as clear cut as health.

<insert joke about how I can't be a vegetarian because of sexual orientation> I had a friend who was a vegetarian and he loved to use the VAGitarian joke (i.e. he eats no meat). It got old after the first time he used it.
