We could include the pogocasts on the CD too, depending on how that pans out.

We'll probably need to get this started before grover leaves to be sure everything he needs will be meet. Also I think we are going to need the address to which we are going to send this letters.
sean is right we should include the pogocasts, and adding groover's responses once he answers by mail is an awesome idea ;D

Been working on other stuff for local things as well playing with skype for the first time. *sigh* guess I need to get off me bum and get back to work :-)

What about making a Wiki for this? We could have a main page with links to all of the issues. Then as we're in the process of creating each newsletter, people could go on and edit and add what information they think should be included. Also, I don't know if anyone has discussed this, but I think we should still call the newsletter "Letters to Grover" and maybe even have them all addressed to Grover. Then it's like one of those organizations with a mysterious name that you need to look into to understand, and once you get it, it's really touching. xP

Know what i mean?

I like the newsletter idea so that he's not getting multiple versions of the same stories. It could be like a monthly update of the Moon or something along those lines. We could offer it to other people who have limited or no access to internet who are a part of the Moon.

I guess we need to view this thing period by period (if we're gonna do it monthly/weekly) because who knows what kind of great ideas we'll come up with.. so that we almost completly summarize what has happened on the moon during that period
BTW I also like the newsletter idea. With this we can keep everybody up-to-date who has been absent (vacation, internet problems etc.) on the moon to have a quick summary
*2 cents*

Wow, what a great idea. One thing that has not been mentioned to be included with the CD is audio from various video responses to Dan's videos. We should definitely include some of that, especially if the PogoTribe found it interesting.

So how often are we going to send him the updates? Every other week? Every month? It all depends on how much happens in certain periods of time, I suppose...

Is someone printing it out and sending it to him? Is Grover giving out the address to send the newsletter to?

since the link didn't work, I'll just repost here Ok guys, here is what I've done so far. rapidshare.com/files/360095739/Test_Setup.pdf.htmlNow what I need is feedback. What needs to be there that isn't? What is there that needs to go? Also, I've used the pogotribe forum logo for the first page header, but it would be nice to have one created for the newsletter itself. The reason for it's slim design is it was created with Grover in mind and that he will not have access to the internet. However, if it is felt that it might serve as a roadmap for a newbie to SPOTM, then it can be increased and thicken. Please note that all "information" within is false and a bad attempt to take up space under the headers. Also note that the fields will fill up quickly when there is increased activity and booming news. The Dan's Project portion may even need to be divided up further. The Intro by Dan section is something I would like to see, but is easily removed. With his big project coming up, youtube videos to make, twitter to keep up with, daily vlogging, forums, etc, he seems to be stretched pretty thin. This, like the entire thing, is an idea only and I have not spoken with Dan himself about it. I do have faith that if he declines to do this, it will be only from lack of time. As I said, he seems to be stretched pretty thin at the moment and I don't think anyone could possibly fault him for declining to put something else on his table. As far as Grover goes, I hope to get Dan's permission to nab his Pogotok's as well as his youtube vids to burn them to cd/dvd to send them to Grover. This is also something that would have to be in the works as Dan is a busy guy and I don't have his number in my phone :-) Also, if I could find some way to mine the forum data off the website I'd like to send it as well, but that all depends on how much help can be given, if I can find some way to do it, and if it is legal :-) Anyway guys, this is what I have. Rip it up, tear it apart, tear it down, blow it up, and get some good graphic stuff. This is the roughest of the rough drafts for it. Those that can write, volunteer, those that can do graphical wizard work, get to making magic. Grover leaves in 23 days and I'd like to have something to work with by then :-) Also on a side note. I was planning on putting one of these out a week for Grover. If it is decided to put them out from the newbies as well, I would request that it is done only once a month. The reason is that this will keep one of our community up to date on happenings fairly quickly and hopefully his responses can be chimed in. For the new people, its more of a directory of what is going on and will be full of more things as it will include many internet links etc. So now it's your turn. Take it and make it more awesome. Nothing is set in stone, it's all about making it the best we can for Grover and everyone else. Edit: I know the original idea was for bi-weekly but I set the easier to reach goal of weekly to monthly for now until we can see who we have to work on it and how it goes before decreasing the time between publications.

Wouldn't a written letter look more personal? I mean, i would expect my friends to send me written, and not typed letters. Even if I would have some trouble understanding their hand writing ;D
