okay reason I think it should be legal
1.) by removing the taboo of it being illegal you will actually get less people using it! Look at countries in Europe were it is legal compared to North America were it is illegal. You have less percentage of people trying it and even doing it on a regular bases.
2.) it would create jobs for people and the government would make millions off of the growth and selling on it. It would also be controlled a lot better.
3.) crime rate would go down cause there would be less drug dealing and those getting arrested for it/murdered. Also the police could spend more time and money on other important issues.
Though I do no smoke pot and never will nor do I support you going out and becoming a pot head I do see the positive side of having it legal.

I dont support anything that has a dependancy. Especially something that triggers metal illness in the brain.

I watched Dan's video on this and that's what really made me change my mind. I know it makes me sound like a zombie, but I don't think it should do because Dan had a very good argument on this topic which made a whole load of sense.

The legalisation of marijuana would be a great mistake simply due to the effects on the brain. For all those who believe that marijuana being legalised would decrease the users are wrong, because although some may have used it because of a sign of rebellion, most use it just because they are addicted, and all you need is one try, and with easier access and no legal problems, more and more people will be trying out marijuana.

I remember hearing that around 80% of all crime is funded by illegal drugs, if Mary Jane is legalized, that could probably bring down crime levels.
Also Megan Fox says that she likes pot. End of Argument.

Alright funneh topic.
Here is what I know. Norwegian scientist have recently started a 30 year-project where they follow marijuana users over 30 years (we are 5 years into the process)
So far what have been observed (observed not proven) is that it`s not the use but in which context the use has been done in that decides if you will be addicted and misuse marijuana or use it for recreational purposes.
If you use it to escape your problems for example depression, unemployment, or something else bad. You are more likely to misuse marijuana.
On the fact that marijuana is illegal she has this to say. "You may risk social exclusion if you seek help if this has become a problem. Thats why I am pro legalization. We need another form of regulation than the one we have today." (It`s not a 100% correct quote since Norwegian->English is quite tricky. But it is what she meant I swear by the five great vegetables.)
I for one support her.

I think bud should be legalized. Or at least decriminalized. It is a safer alternative to alcohol and tobacco. Also makes ya feel good. Addiction carries from person to person but it is not the same type of addiction to say alcohol. It is more like a chocolate addiction. It doesn't kill brain cells. or any amount that would actually damage your brain. The only thing that may hurt you is the fact that you are absorbing plant matter into your lungs. Brownies and cookies can be made though. Also a vaporizer can be used too

Dude no, it's NOT addictive. I've just given it up. I've done it enough to actually get hooked but I've been able to say no for good. Plus alcohol, imo, is as bad as marijuana. But I'll agree with you, I don't believe usage will go down. People drink alcohol because it's legal and acceptable and if you legalize weed you'll make it acceptable for anyone who wants to try weed, to try it. I don't think it should be legalized, but rather be tolerated in small amounts and in certain places, like it is in Vancouver.

If you look at the Prohibition Era (In America) , you'll notice that when it was over, people didn't rely on alcohol as heavily. The same could happen with drugs.

1st: There is honestly nothing wrong with Marijuana. The only negative, long term side effect that is currently known is psychosis, and that would take years of constant smoking. 2nd: It's not physically addictive like tobacco is, nor cancerous. (yet tobacco remains legal...) 3rd: It's by far, better for you than alcohol is. 4th: ...I HATE YOU. SHE IS A BEAUTIFUL LADY WITH A MORE BEAUTIFUL SOUL. Are you this kid? I could go on, but I don't really feel like it.

Marijuana should be made legal, or caffeine, tobacco and alcohol should be made illegal.
Marijuana is less addictive than any of the above, and is not itself an addictive substance. Some people claim that it is a gateway to harder drugs, but that is largely due to the harder drugs being offered by the same sources as the marijuana. Furthermore, marijuana has never been proved to be addictive by any research conducted to date.
There are fewer side effects than any of the above (in terms of mental and physical health). Marijuana cannot be overdosed on, and is safer than smoking cigarettes because of the relative quantities smoked per day. It would be almost physically impossible to smoke as many as 20 joints in a day, which means the amount of smoke inhaled would be less. Finally marijuana is a calming and relaxation drug. People who smoke it do not generally start fights or get aggressive. They also don't get jittery or short with other people.
Perhaps I am missing something huge, but it seems to me that marijuana should have been legalised a long time ago. And from an economic standpoint, the government could tax it as much as they do on alcohol and tobacco, and make a killing.
