Is this going to be a helpful process? Remember two of the most dangerous countries Iran, and North Korea will not be participating.

Helpful how? Yes, they may cut the amount of nukes in each country's arsenal, but in the big scheme of things, they aren't going to make that much of a difference. Both US and Russia have massive nuclear arsenals that unless cut drastically, can destroy the world several times over.

The plan is to increase security around the countries that have nukes to ensure terrorists don't get a hold of them. We aren't actually to worried about countries that have nukes using them. So the question is will this prolong a nuclear attack by a terrorist organization?

Ignoring the countries who have nuclear weapons is just plain stupid. Obama, I'm for you, but start talking to them! North Korea, Iran, and pretty much the rest of the countries that hate us are currently being excluded from the talk about terrorism as if it doesn't affect them as well. This is a worldwide threat. Get the entire world involved, not the inner circle.
For the record, matttherobot is right. Even if every nuclear country cuts their supply of weapons down to 2, it'll be enough to exterminate the human race. Nukes need to be gone. That science was never meant to be used for war.

He doesn't talk to those countries be cause he knows they won't listen.

How is that an excuse? Why does that make it okay to not try? If nothing else, it will show the world that they're at least attempting to start discussion. If they're stubborn, that's all the more reason for them to go. Give me a good reason for excluding them.

Yes it helps, it may not be perfect but it's progress and it's better then nothing. And I'm sure he has a reason why he didn't invite Iran, a lot of thought goes into these things and I'm sure that's not something he'd overlook.

I need to clarify that North Korea and Iran are not being excluded from the discussion. The US has actually made major attempts to contact and work with them. North Korea responded to this by saying that they don't tie into any discussion on nuclear weapons. Iran's crazy president is just plain insulting the US in attempt to show his country that he is the one in power. Again, These countries excluded themselves and they are not the major threats. In my opinion it's Pakistan we have to worry about... Not directly but they are not a secure country and they harbor terrorism.

It's helpful, but not very. Sure, there are certainly less loose nukes lying around for terrorist access, but plenty of countries still have enough nukes to wipe the vast majority of life from the face of the Earth multiple times over.
