FIRSTLY, JUST BECAUSE THE VIDEO WAS FUNNY DOESNT MEAN YOU HAVE TO DEFEND THE FATHER. I found it amusing also.
I have always thought that David After Dentist was a very immature act by the father. I think that David's life could be ruined by this. He could be rejected by all his friends/kids who would have been his friends, he could encounter difficulty getting a job, and face many other problems. I think that the father was very hasty and inconsiderate when hitting the Upload Button, not considering how this could affect his life.
But parents can get away with anything. This is legal, as the parent is the legal guardian, and therefore can do whatever he wants. One could argue that the father has the power to do this, despite whether David approves, or whether he will approve when he's older.
Discuss below.

Most parents/family members who spread viral videos were being irresponsible.

...Or it could very positively affect his life! Like it already has! Woah!

Why would you someone who acted funny while on medication (at such a young age) be rejected? Anyway, I myself wouldn't recognize him in 5 years time if I met him. People age and change.

Bro, did you even read the doobly doo when you watched it? He did it because David wanted to see what he looked like after getting all high off laughing gass *Jealous xD*. If you haven't noticed, he also had his dad record him telling a joke, and calling out Christian Bale to put it on youtube. I'd hardly say it's cruel

I don't see how this video could prevent him from getting a job later on in life.. I highly doubt that 10 years from now we'll even remember the video. If we do, it's not like David will look the same and still be identified as the kid from the video. I don't think it's irresponsible to have a child who has a viral video, mostly because the people don't know it's going to be a viral video. Most people just put the videos on YouTube so they can show a few family members, and it ends up spiraling out of control. And what's so wrong about posting a video that makes people happy, anyway?

Who's gonna turn him down for a job for being stoned when he was 6 after going to the dentist?

rcn927 I think in context, you're reading waaaaaaay to far in between the lines. David will be fine. As will his teeth.

The video would have made them hundreds of thousands of dollars, and to be honest - who would make fun of David for that? If people are cruel enough to make fun of someone for something that happened when they were 9 - then they probably aren't people you'd want to be friends with. And I don't see how it would affect his job, either!
I think it's fine!

I don't understand how the fact that this video went viral would prevent him from getting a job in the future? ?

Yeah I totally agree. It's pretty stupid. Well, except for that one time when I was rejected by all levels society and institution because my parents posted a viral video of me when I was young...But that's totally different.

What? How could it impact his ability to get a job?
"I see on your resume that you meet all of our qualifications and more, however we saw that you had too much laughing gas when you 7 years old so unfortunately we cannot hire you."

Actually, it is my belief that the video was spread due to a misunderstanding by the parents. Originally, the video was supposed to be only shared with friends and family. However; when they weren't able to share it through Facebook, they decided that they would upload it to YouTube. But instead of hitting "Private" They hit "Public".
As for my opinion, I think the parents should have been more careful, of course. But I don't think that David is going to suffer any from the video, he seems to like the attention, so let him have it. However, if any other parents are going to purposefully upload videos of their kids like this (While knowing full well that it will be shared with the world), they should ask the kids permission first.
