Dissapointment, its a weird thing. I recently found I out I didn't get something that I thought I would, and I had worked so hard on applying for it and was almost ready to get on. I just received a letter saying that I wasn't chosen. The very first thing I felt was sadness, and dissapointment too. I never felt angry, because I don't know who else applied and maybe they were more qualified than me. Who knows? I can't control the news. But all I do know is that I can control how I take the news. I could eaisly break down and cry, and ask the world why I didn't get on. I feel right now that I am on the verge of being super upset. But I won't be. One of my favorite movies lines is in Rocky when he says "Life isnt about how hard you can hit, its about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward." I am upset that I didnt get on, but I need to keep going. If you waste to much time being upset, you can miss something even better. You can't live your life crying every time you lose. You can be upset and you can cry, but no need to wallow in self pity. I have to suck it up, and not act cocky either. It's life, its my life. I was given this life, and I don't want to spend it being sad. I have my whole life ahead of me, and I will have bigger dissapointments. No one ever gets everything, and you have to take the losses with the wins. Life has no score, no record, no winners and loosers. Just those who live their life to the fullest, and those who don't.
Okay that was a huge rant, but what do you think about dissapointment?

Disappointment is one of the worst feelings there is. I try to prepare myself for it by not expecting too much from other people... I know that probably sounds like a bad thing, but at the same time I can brace myself if something that I wish to happen doesn't go well. At the same time, I still have tons of respect for every living thing on this planet. So... (I don't know what else to add here) I think this is a good place for minor rants, by the way. I'm glad you got it out of your system.

If this was a college application, don't worry. Half of my friends didn't get the courses they wanted, one of them even had to go into a whole other field.. and I don't know one single person who regrets the courses they did or feels like it was a bad thing they weren't accepted by their first choice. I do know a few people who got their first choice and weren't happy though! We never know what we're applying to with college courses, it's half chance whether you'll end up liking what you do!
Disappointment always hits a nerve for me. Like if you hear a story about someone who died, it makes you feel sad, but if you hear that at the last minute everyone thought everything was going to be okay for a moment... and then they realized no.. that is agonizing. Something about hope flying up only to be shot through the heart.. always gets me

Disappointment sucks, but I think that's something most people can agree on. I know that when I'm disappointed about certain things, I end up blaming myself and things become really dangerous (that + my depression = wanting to kill myself), but in other cases I just say to myself, "You expect too much. Set your expectations as low as possible, then next time, the disappointment won't be so bad."
It's not a sound theory, but it's what keeps me going when faced with disappointment.

I think disappointment sucks, In that you lose something you wanted
But I think that without disappointment, We wouldn't really be anywhere. There is never a complete win-win situation. Its usually win-lose. Sometimes that lose is less severe than other times, but there's always a lose.
And if you're the lose, Then accept that you are and move on.
The world belongs to those willing to get their hands dirty. And if you don't get your hands dirty than you can't improve or change or move forward.
