For those of you who watch the worldcup what do you think about the vuvuzelas? Do they irritate you while watching or hadn't you even noticed them untill you saw this thread?

I think it's a good stadium noise, builds the atmosphere.
Of course, I'm not there. But on TV I like the sound.

I don't mind them. I like the environment it creates in a stadium. That being said, I wouldn't buy one and start making sound in front of my tv xD

I like them as a part of the football stadium environment. Except that everyone is always using them so the stadium sounds like a freakin' honeycomb full of raging bees.

I hate them. They are very annoying. Where's the guy who had the great idea to put them in the youtube player? I have a knife with his name on it...

Listening to Seussical the Musical with Vuvuzelas playing is freaking hilarious, though.

Everything in moderation. For instance, the boom- or thunder-sticks we have here in Canada (and logically, other countries.) They are plastic inflatable tubes filled with air. You hit them together and they make a bang noise. We here love them at football (not soccer) matches. That's because not everyone has them. If EVERYONE in the ENTIRE STADIUM used them, it would be annoying. Take the Brazilian bands that play at Brazil soccer matches. They are nice, but if EVERYONE in the ENTIRE stadium played in a band, it would be annoying. That said, vuvuzelas make a lot of noise. More than boom-sticks, and possibly more than the bands. Perhaps a limit of vuvuzelas-per-x amount of people? It sounds ridiculous, I know. Or perhaps, only have them allowed at South Africa games?

It would be cool to have a vuvuzela of my own, but on TV it sounds so annoying to me because I hate wasps, hornets, and yellow jackets (aka evil with wings) and the sound of thousands of vuvuzelas reminds me of a bees' nest.

I understand now why people blow the vivuzela. Because it is annoying as a crying child. But to be honest, if I owned one, i would probably piss people around with it.
