Haha well you see, is the chat service on the PS3 good? Haha to be honest I don't even know if the PS3 has one, as I've never had a reason to use it (I know it has in-game chat, but I don't know if it has anything where you can just talk to people). I play most online games on the 360 because I know more people who have 360s, and I can tell you that the 360's chat system is pretty good. Xbox live is also better then the PS3's online service for now at least. Well do you know if you can chat with others when your doing offline games or you are on the home screen?

I watch a lot of movies, my country is very hot during the summer, I've been in love with the Dualshock controller since I was 9, I love the God of War games. That's what happens when you ask for other people's opinions.

If you want to play games, buy a 360.
If you want a beautiful, shiny and incredibly quiet console with an amazing menu interface that allows you to watch movies with a beautiful definition, buy a PS3.

Xbox ! Selection of games on ps3 seems a tad limited and the games that are on both, the xbox seems to run em miles better visually and speed wise ( using red dead redemption as an example) i have an xbox, only rly use it for movies and the odd game now and then. Ps3 has amazing upscaling and if u love quality videos go ps3.
So uhhh imo, if like videos and some games go ps3 and opposite for xbox ofcourse whichever exclusive titles tickle ur fancy.....
But in the end id choose xbox as a games console outright. Better titles for me with nice media center and the big one for me is the kinetic coming out in november. V nice.
If i was stupid with money id have both though

I don't really play console games anymore, but if I had the choice to go back, I'd buy a PS3. It has LittleBigPlanet, and I know that game would keep me entertained for such a long time. Plus, I usually use my 360 to watch movies anyway...

I don't own either system, but I have played them and experienced them.
For the vast amount of features and great games, I would have to say the Playstation 3. PSN is awesome, and PSN+ allows you to get more for your buck compared to Xbox Live. The Playstation 3 has significantly less shovelware then the Xbox 360 and Wii, because the development kit is expensive and more difficult to use compared to the Xbox 360 and Wii dev kits. The exclusives, and even non exclusives for the PS3 are amazing, like MGS4, LBP, and then some non-exclusives like Dragon Age Origins . PS1 compatibility is awesome too, being able to play games like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night with very nice quality. The X Media Bar or whatever it's called is awesome and easy to use.

What do you mean "new"? Isn't it just a regular slim model?

Depends, do you want games?
If you answered yes, buy a 360.

Kinect's gonna suck, built in wifi doesn't make a difference, hard drive doesn't make it new.
Still think you should buy a 360.

Well they call it new, but the main reason i'm leaning towards it is because even though PS3's online internet is free, i know no one who has one when i know tons of people with a 360, so 360's internet would be more worth wild even though it would be more expensive altogether, but idk :/

The slim is also apparently significantly quieter then the original 360.
