The slim is also apparently significantly quieter then the original 360. the new 360 is whisper quiet i've heard it, and no red ring of death

Go with whatever your friends have. Personally, I think the Xbox is better.

I don't own either system, but I have played them and experienced them. For the vast amount of features and great games, I would have to say the Playstation 3. PSN is awesome, and PSN+ allows you to get more for your buck compared to Xbox Live. The Playstation 3 has significantly less shovelware then the Xbox 360 and Wii, because the development kit is expensive and more difficult to use compared to the Xbox 360 and Wii dev kits. The exclusives, and even non exclusives for the PS3 are amazing, like MGS4, LBP, and then some non-exclusives like Dragon Age Origins . PS1 compatibility is awesome too, being able to play games like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night with very nice quality. The X Media Bar or whatever it's called is awesome and easy to use. Have you tried the new xbox 360 yet though? The new Xbox 360, software wise, is absolutely no different from the old Xbox 360. So in a sense, I have tried it.

dude u havent linked anything saying that it wont work lol It would make no sense for them to not have a peripheral for their console not work with their console Either take a pic of the direct quote or post the direct quote or shut yer gob and theres gonna be no difference software wise between the old + new xbox they will all run on the same stuff. only difference would be if one person doesnt own a wireless adapter

only difference would be if one person doesnt own a wireless adapter Which would also mean that they live in an igloo somewhere in an uninhabited land.

If you've got one of those ... not-so-Slim Xbox 360s, then you're gonna need some extra power outlets, as Microsoft tells us that older Xbox consoles will need a separate power supply for the motion controller add-on."
