Personally, I am a huge Forrest Gump fan. The acting is superb, and the story is both fun to watch and heart-wrenching. Robert Zemeckis did a truly great job with this adaptation.
Other films that come very, very close though are American History X, Star Wars Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back, Full Metal Jacket, 12 Angry Men, and Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

This is a list of people's FAVORITE films, not what they consider the BEST films. It just so happens that many people's favorite films are the best films out there. However, this is not always true. There are plenty of people who love bad films, but when asked would not cal them the best.

The ringer. A man fixes the special olyimpics. It's the funniest movie I have ever seen, and it acctually has a very strong message.

A Clockwork Orange. The directing, the acting, and the script are all amazing. It's also pretty funny. The book was funnier but also hastily written so I prefer the movie.

INCEPTION!!! I only saw it this evening but it was the most fascinating, and mind-boggling twist ive ever seen. Right up there with Fight Club, and The Sixth Sence.. which are other favourites of mine. Christopher Nolan outdid himself on this one. It baffles me how a single man can write up such an amazing plot, almost to the point where he invented his own universe. I have always been fascinated vastly by dreams, and since the beginning of my adolescence ive been trying to figure out what dreams mean, what certain things symbolize and iève become quite good at it, so this movie was directly up my ally. When they began to speak about "Limbo" which is a state of infinate dreamland that usually occurs while one is comatose, i was almost excited just to understand what they were talking about. I wish i could just stay in the theatre and watch it over and over and over again. I am already going to see it again in a few days. I recommend it to everyone who likes crazy twists that inspire the imagination. I hope that others will enjoy it as much as i do =)
