Okay, one of the main reasons the PogoTribe is here is to change the world for the better. What better way to do that then one child at a time. Just $22 a month would do the following: * Emergency Food * Medical and Dental Care * Educational Support * Family Assistance * Clothes, Shoes and More! I have no clue how we could raise the money, but I think this would be really cool. Think about how they would feel when they open a letter from the PogoTribe (maybe even send pictures?) and they know that they have 100s of people who care about them and support them. I realize this idea needs a lot of work but please tell me what you think. www.childreninternational.com

* Most important of all, your sponsored child will hear about Jesus Christ and be encouraged to develop a lifelong relationship with God. Buh, sorry mate... I was with you until this. Pass. I absolutely love the idea, though. Kind of surprised no one has suggested this yet... my church used to do it all the time. The Tribe should DEFINITELY sponsor a child. : D That's a project I can get behind. EDIT: Through a non-religious organization, that is.

Yes I know I just got the idea looking through paper from that organization. If you can find another one PLEASE suggest it! EDIT: Possibly through this organization I found...http://www.worldvision.org/ Never really cared for there commercials but I do support what there doing.

World Vision is also a Religious Endeavor.
Does anyone KNOW of any child sponsorship program that doesn't convert everyone to the same religion?

if we had a paypal account (or something similar) we could all donate to that and then the money would be transferred to the chosen organization. But a... we could try to do a video hehe ^^ if 20% of all who watch videos online (youtube, veoh etc..) donated 5cents that'd be a lot of money :3
This whole thing is a great idea : DD

Okay so does anyone know the next step? I really want this to be a community project, not just one run by me and I make the decisions. So I say we decide the answer to these questions...
What Organization? What is the best way to collect the money? How should we ask for donations? Should we contact Dan and ask him to give us a shout-out or something similar (when the time is right)?

I was TOTALLY on board until you went all "MUST ASSIMILATE" with the religion. (As Bree pointed out)

I was TOTALLY on board until you went all "MUST ASSIMILATE" with the religion. (As Bree pointed out) yea, i think that if we do something like this it should be to a completely non-religious group I'll see if we can find a way to raise the money that would be used though

Maybe SPOTM could have a few ads and give some of the money to sponsoring children.

Maybe SPOTM could have a few ads and give some of the money to sponsoring children. No, No, No, No, NO. I can't stand adverts... I don't care what the cause is... I don't want to see them.

It's a good idea. But WorldVision is a good charity but yeah it's Christian. I think all charities should be secular.*
