DAN HAS VETOED THIS IDEA The following was my original case for it: This should happen for two reasons: 1. Dan is awesome 2. Dan will be president This is a good thing for someone awesome to do, as well as a good step towards becoming president. Of course, his campaign would be great for the pogotribe and Dan 3.0, too. IMPORTANT: The minimum age for a Nebraska state senator is 21, which Dan will be by the time the elections come. However, this is assuming Dan lives in a certain part of Lincoln. The elections for his district will most likely be in 2012, so he can start his campaign during Dan 3.0. If Dan lives in another district, the elections might be in 2010, and he won't be 21 until May of 2011. If this works, it will be awesome for Dan, and for the whole pogotribe. This is the definition of "thinking impossibly big."

too bad we can't force this with Dan 3.0, since he made it clear if something lasts past the year he has no problem vetoing it.
But Great side to this is since Corperations currently can spend as much as they want on canidates it's would be the Definition of Awesome to have a canadaite brought to power by YouTube.

I don't think this would work...
Going for senator requires a campaign, and a lot of planning, and a lot of money, and I just don't think it's feasible for Dan to try it. (Also, it would be impossible for him to continue YT goals while campaigning)

True, it would be difficult to carry out, but not by any means impossible. Remember, the position is state senator, not national senator. Dan's district is only about 50 square miles, with about 35,000 people. Of those people, only a few hundred aren't within a few miles of him.
Again, it won't be easy, but it is doable. Beginning a campaign should work as a monthly goal, and things like giving speeches could be suggested as weekly or daily goals.

I don't think this is a good idea at all. Not that I mean that he wouldn't have good intentions, or would work his hardest, but he doesn't have the education or preparation needed.

Actually, it is easy! Kesha Ram got to be in the House of Representatives and is the youngest member there. She ran straight out of college! I knew her from before. As long as you are personable, and can make people like you, which Dan can, it should be easy.
The only thing I can see holding him back is that he is not christian, and the Westborough baptist church...

I agree that both experience and religion are potential problems, but less educated people can make good leaders, and, with both parents pastors, nobody can say he doesn't have traditional Christian values. Again, it will be hard, but not impossible.
