I think we should add a failed section, where any projects that the leader left or has just failed can be moved to.
This would move spam from the projects section and would also allow us to see what works and doesnt?

This wouldn't be very motivating would it?

Not only that, but it could be used to revive projects.

Maybe you could use other word instead of failed... like "unfinished" ;D?

Maybe, but FAILED sounds more punchy.

Also, wouldn't all the projects that are not in the finished projects section be unfinished?

So the flow chart would be
Project Discussion (idea) v Projects (in progress) v Completed projects / Failed Projects

Abso-fricken-lutely. Projects seem to be easily forgotten about. With this kind of organizing we could at least easily tell the progress of each project and which projects do and don't work.

Wouldn't this be 95% of the Projects section?
Honestly.
If it's not in "Completed," then it's either floating around the top of Projects still going on, or it has failed.
Just think of everything not on the first page of Projects as a "Failed Projects" section. >_>

Breepop sure but think of all the new people that will come to the moon and not know what what failed and for what reason. Actually come to think of it a simple thread, pinned and locked ind the Projects section that is just updated by admins weekly would do the trick. It could list all the failed projects by date, with links to each thread. Maybe even a one-liner to describe why it failed. How does that sound?

But, alot of work and researching on the admin part... would be easier for it to just be moved.
AND @bree - Yes, it probably would. It would motivate us to focus on successful projects

There was some discussion on making it a Projects Archive section instead where we put both completed and abandoned/failed in there. Maybe some kind of split section or indicator? I don't know.
But I know I don't like the idea of a "Failed Projects" section, mostly for the demotivation reason.

But, alot of work and researching on the admin part... would be easier for it to just be moved. Yea, but easier isn't always better. I know admins can have a lot on their plate but that's why we're bringing in some moderators. And if the admins/mods are following the projects it wouldn't be too difficult -- in theory -- to write up a description after adding the project to the thread. (Do admins attempt to follow the projects..?) There was some discussion on making it a Projects Archive section instead where we put both completed and abandoned/failed in there. Maybe some kind of split section or indicator? I don't know. But I know I don't like the idea of a "Failed Projects" section, mostly for the demotivation reason. We could always call the "unsuccessful projects" section. And write as the blurb: "Learn from our previous mistakes" hence the idea behind a simple write up of why/how the project failed.

It would also become an issue knowing when a Project has "failed." I'm pretty sure the admins wouldn't want to move a thread unless the OP gave permission (at least, that's how I'd do it). How much would it suck to have to say, "My project failed, please move it to the fail pit. "? Besides that, how many people would actually tell us to move their failed projects? We'd constantly be unsure, because people would constantly forget to tell us it should be moved. Then we'd have to contact the person and blah blah. If we just left it up to the admins to decide when a project has "failed," that could...turn bad. We could be wrong. Or people could take offense. *shrug* I mean, it wouldn't be the hugest hassle in the world, but I'm not fond of the idea for many reasons (one of the main reasons would be seeing how many more threads "Failed" has as compared to "Completed"... seriously guys, your Failed Project section is the second page and on). I can kind of see the benefits, but I'm not seeing them weight out the cons. :/
